Which hose? Most of them are well protected...and there is steel in the hoses. Is it possible it was pinched where the blade pivots because snow pushed it where it wasn't supposed to be?

Anyway...Stay away for JD for this repair-look in the phone book under "hydraulics" and find a local shop to make you a new hose. Take the old one with you.

Kenny, you know i dunno how it got punctured. All i know is that it happened after I was trying to drop the blade into the middle of a 2 foot bank of snow to help clear it from my neighbor's garage door. I will definitely look for more protection.

Slide a piece of electrical green field over the hose to protect it.

I had porcupines chewing my hoses on my tractor it slowed them down a little.

Tom, thanks for the advice.

Are you sure it was the ice and not the neighbor cutting it because you didn't do a good enough job clearing his driveway? Sometimes people think that way... I had some not too close neighbors that thought that way for a while, till I let their "snow" build up to an unbearable height. (actually it was a dirt road and I let the pot holes grow)
Hopefully you picked up a replacement from a local hydraulic shop and are back in business. Did your neighbor offer to help with the replacement cost of the hose? If he did, or does something else as a return favor, it often takes away the pain of helping out your neighbors, something I often try to do.

Nope not the neighbor, nope al i got was a sorry and thanks for helping us out. I will find a local shop to get the hose replaced or repaired (as the hole is as one end) at this point.

The hose is one of these two that connect to the pressure relief valve. I will take the hose off this week and get it replaced/repaired. There is a leak a little bit beyond the connector

Yep, i actually got a bit lazy and went to my local dealer and they repaired them both and sold em a tube of liquid tape for ~20 bucks. When i took the hoses off, both of them were punctured - or should I say smashed. i dunno what I hit, but I will be looking at putting some metal in the way to protect those hoses in the future.

it sounds like a drawback of the
blade lifting so high,
it's a 366 blade, right?
uses that new front 3ph?

Yep it is a 366, the hoses are exposed and I think i dumped it down on some snow covered bricks or rocks Here is a pic of the hoses before they got fixed.

You need to check things...those hoses are worn through-that damage was not caused by a one time incident. They are rubbing something. Obviously Dutch knows something;)
