You need to check things...those hoses are worn through-that damage was not caused by a one time incident. They are rubbing something. Obviously Dutch knows something;)

I agree 100%

Yep it is a 366, the hoses are exposed and I think i dumped it down on some snow covered bricks or rocks Here is a pic of the hoses before they got fixed.

Do you see the rubber is kinda galled and see the scrape marks?? This has not happened with a single event- This hose failure is the result of repeated events ( scraping )- I would guess against metal- Manipulate the blade, if you can? and find the point of contact- perhaps your hoses are not long enough??

Hmmm, i checked the hoses before I started both days and they were fine, so I am a bit perplexed as to what i rubbed against at my neighbors, as the damage occurred over there.

I will take another look tomorrow and see if there is any contacts with the frame, but in that area there is no contact that could come from the bottom like these scrapes/cuts/crush injuries.

Nuru,
any chance that those hoses have already been
replaced? They just don't look like the factory hoses
to me, did you buy this unit new? Have these hoses
been replaced before?
it sure looks like it's being kinked or pinched someplace..

Dutch, those were on the blade when I got it. I actually picked the unit up at the Dealer and it was still sealed in boxes? I thought they were a bit thin/light weight myself but this is the first issue I have had with them. When they were repaired, the parts guys said they used different/heavier hoses? But I can tell you this, when I started out both days, there was no issue with hoses. This is the second season that I have used it and the first with the problem. Where the issue happened it seems that I brushed up against some bricks/stones or something im my neighbors yard.

Looks like a bad case of "rug-burn"... :D The hoses were abraded - shaved - by contact with the ground or a metal surface on the blade.

Whatever caused that to happen would have a similar effect even if you used a Kevlar sleeve or a similar shield. Just takes a little longer to wear thru..

I'd be lookin' real hard at how those hoses are routed.

Best of luck.

Akfish, how have you been? I hope all is well with you and your family. Yep, I will be looking at movement and clearances and I will re-route a bit higher.

Been doin' real well, Nuru. Thanks. Hope you and your's are all healthy and happy as well. :)

Been busier than last year - clearing trees and stumps, etc. for my hay fields. I've had the 110 a little more than a year and half and got 480 hrs. on it, now. But, my fields are all cleared now except for a dozen stumps or so; they'll be out as soon as the ground thaws this Spring.

I can almost "see" the green grass springing up this next Summer!! :D

Akfish, thanks, and I am glad you and yourn' are doing fine! I gotta get my grass together this spring and I am gonna make a huge effort to do this time. Spend some bucks on the seed, lime pellets, fertilizer, topsoil, and I may even get a core aerator, do some pluggin. I have not decided whether or not I will get one for the 3PT on the 3520 or get one for the GX-255. Depends on how much i wanna spend, and how much room I have to store the unit.
