FEL snowplow...single act cylinders...how to hook up

So is there any way to make the plow work with constant regen?

Welcome to TBN:D

What tractor do you have?

Your only shot is to remove the two SA cylinders and add one DA cylinder. Even that has problem sometimes though.

The other option is a different valve.

To slow down the speed of the angle you need to add one of these. Grainger has them. You only need to add one on either cylinder because it restricts the flow in both directions.

I just new you where going to say you had a NH or older Kubota. Both used 3-way valves for a while...

I see a new valve in your future.

I works just fine. The only "problem" is your truck plow cylinders are accustomed to 1000 psi. Using 2500 psi gives you a plow angle sweep effect. It can shove the snow or gravel sideways pretty fast ! And that's pretty handy, too.

Actually the "truck plow" cylinders are madefor this kind of pressure or you would blow them to bits.

The true problem is the pump on your tractor has alot more flow (gpm) make the plow move too fast when angling. Not so bad on a manual control valve but a rear pain if you have a electric over hydraulic.

As DanD says, a flow control needle valve is the $30 answer. Some models only control flow 1 direction, so be careful what your getting.
Forget wasting your time making one you can't dial into the speed you want. You will have it out and drill it 10 times b4 you get it right.

Regards
Ken

I would agree as i have hooked them up and it moves very controlled from a 3rd function valve I added for angle adjustment and other front end accessorries. I did use 1/4" hoses to the plow cylinders from my 3/8" supply lines which has probably resticted the full flow and pressure alittle

The video illustrated it the speed etc.

Any idea what valve I would need? getting to be apain hopping on and off the tractor to switch the angle.

How many hoses are connected to your FEL valve? If it's seven-is there a port marked "PB" for power beyond? Some pictures of you valve will also help.

And you may want to start a new thread so your info does not get lost in this one.

Looks like it has seven ports...You need to verify that on your machine and identify the PB port.
