FEL/ Hooks

This post is from another forum; I also plan doing the same on my Kubota B7800 I am interested in the advice & suggestions

I have a L2900 w/FEL and want to add hooks to use for chaining up or lifting with the bucket. I am interested in ideas about wether to weld or bolt the hook on ...and where to put them...likely uses are to secure something in bucket...dragging something...lifting something out of my pick-up...also does having a hook attached to my backhoe bucket cause any problems?

If you use the quote function on the toolbar -it makes your post a lot easier to read. When you simply cut and paste- the message is some what degraded.

I have learned a lot on FEL Hooks by using the search function- type in bucket hooks, fel hooks and you will see about 10 pages

I installed a 3/8 thick 2x2 angle and 4 hooks on my 3215.

Reinforced bucket lip and used three weld-on hooks. Works great.

LQPAPPY, did you get your bucket powder coated? It really looks good.

No. That pic was probably with very little use. Just touched-up with the oem kubota paint. It does not look that good now (about 60hrs) and could use another touch-up. But Thanks !

You need a Bucket Buddy. Do a search on the forum. Weld a two inch receiver on your bucket. You can use and make all kinds of attachments then.

These have worked great for me. Each rated at 10,000#. Cost about $10 each. No welding and easy to put on. I re-inforced with 1/2" plate.

I added hooks to my bucket and all I did was drill a couple of 1/2 holes for each hook. I may be the odd one here thinking that most of these small tractors don't have the power to lift an item that would pull out four 1/2 in. bolts plus the hook through the bucket.


I've tried
