What would you change about your current John Deere tractor?

The cabs (in Europe) for the 2x20 series not NOT have AC-probably would not sell many here in the US like that.

I do ago they need a small CUT with a cab like the Kubota B3030.

The cab height or width or dimensions isn't really an issue... just having a JD designed and manufactured cab would be fantastic!

The 310 TLB can be purchased with a cab or with the open-station ROPS like it's little brother - the 110.

Having that option - that's the deal.

The response was an answer as to "why it won't work". As I recall the 310 is large enough for a swivel seat and has been around for ages. I think the reason why Deere has not offered the cab on the 110 is because it would be unique to this one model, but yes I understand this is a list of "wants" for tractors.

Maybe parts of Europe require manufacturers to offer cabs as options. My JD shop manual for the 4200 - 4400 lists brake lights and a horn as equipment for European models. I've also seen pictures of European tractors with license plates on them, so that makes me think some socialist bureaucrat has his/her fingers in the pie telling Deere, et al to offer cabs.

I don't know about the socialist bureaucrats you mention, but in Europe (my part of it at least) tractors are allowed on the highway and must conform to the same rules as other slow vehicles : brake lights, a horn, 2 rear-view mirrors, European type headlights, trafficators, amber strobe light, insurance and of course license plates at the rear. Surprisingly enough we don't have seat belts on tractors !

All My JD's have seat belts....

Could be... But, it seems to me that offering a cab as an option (on the 2000 series) would also be a money maker.

I wonder how many buyers JD would have enticed into the dealer's if they would have offered "free hot chocolate" (or 25% off a new front/rear mounted snowblower) :) with their new cab tractor during the recent blizzards all up and down the eastern third of the country!?!?

I agree that I think a cab would be a money maker; but I'm not in marketing...thank goodness!

For my 6420 I wish it didnt rev down to low rpms on a large incline and a beacon light and front hitch. More power for my 673 disk 12' 2''. Wished i had a 7330 standard 20/20 power quad not the 16/16 like my 64. Haha lost the photo had to go through my farmphoto to find it.

That's a manly tractor; though I know they do make larger ones.

I think you may have hit on another point about the lack of AC on the smaller units being a cab deal breaker in Deere's eyes; but I still want a cab with heat on those rare winter days when I need to move snow. I also want a cab to keep wind blown dirt out of my face when using the loader. The European cab offered for the 4200 - 4400 isn't as nice as the new ones based on my shop manual pictures, and it isn't sealed tight either; but I still would have gladly bought it when I ordered Bambi back in 2001, and it looks to better than the aftermarket cabs I've seen on the net. Based on what I've seen on the net, the Jodale-Perry & Laurin cabs come the closest to looking and fitting like a factory designed cab.

We can drive on the roads too as long as we have a SMV emblem as a minimum; but I use my flashers. I'm surprised that seat-belts aren't required on tractors in France as I use mine. I assume trafficators are turn signals? Ours have them too. We don't require license plates thank goodness, nor do we need auto type insurance. Mirrors are an option on some tractors and those of us who have them most likely added them after the fact. I wouldn't be without them. Horns and brake lights are not on our tractors either; though some of us have added a horn.

My comment regarding socialist bureaucrats is not aimed at you or the average citizen, and I hope I didn't give you that impression; but Europe has the reputation in the States as having heavy handed government intrusion into everyone's lives, which is Socialism in my book.

That is one reasonable objection..

However, I have spent alot of hours in large Ag-tractors that did not have A\C years ago. Folk's bought 'em and were very glad to have a cab with ONLY heat during those chilly, rainy cold Spring days; and those chilly, rainy cold Fall days; and especially during those snowy, windy Winter days.

With the side windows and the rear window open - and sometimes the doors off - it was more comfortable in the summer in a cab than having that hot, hot SD sun beatin' straight down!

The sales figures for tractors without A\C would no doubt be significantly lower in those areas below 35 degrees north -- but, I'd wager the market figures for all those states that extend from Washington to Maine would have pretty darn strong sales - IMO.

I wouldn't change much...my 790 is pretty nice. And I do prefer a very basic, simple tractor (less to break and easy to perform any maintenance)
However, since I park the tractor in my garage, a folding ROPS would be nice.

Wonder if I should put a cab and seat belts on my B? Heck, this didn't even come with a water pump or thermostat! Guess we've gotten away from KISS for tractors.

Wayne,
Nice looking tractor there, I wouldn't expect my new tractors to last nearly as long as your "B".

I would say the main one for my 2520 would be the cab they offer in the UK.
Other than that i'm pretty happy with the machine

IF they had that cab in the US I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT..... NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!
