...one thing I noticed right away when signing on here to become a member and introducing myself is I had 2 or maybe 3 people to welcome me...
Please don't take this the wrong way... but it's a bit funny to me, since you only posted once in the "New Members" forum... :) I'll post a welcome to the few new members that I had *something* in common or they had asked for some help...

I believe that the reason new members aren't welcomed by more old members is because this is such a large forum with about 10 new members a day. Nobody has time to post welcomes to all the new members daily.

We could always do it programatically, set up a profile bit and script away.... :)
that way every new member can get upwards of 10k personal welcome PM's to read on joining. :) :)

Correction: In the last 24 hours, there were 56 new members. That's a lot of new members to greet everyday!

Excellent idea! I've picked up on a lot of the acronyms and other jargon, but a TBN on-line dictionary (or at least a sticky thread) would be a very helpful tool indeed.

If you find one that you can't figure out, just ask politely. You'll get quick answers.:thumbsup:

The three which hung me up were:
1) IIRC - if I recall correctly
2) FWIW - for what it's worth
3) YMMV - your milage may vary

I had to ask about all three.:laughing:
