Remember to pack your bearings!

khnewman and diamond pilot, its people like you I wish we have more of. Based on your guts, or experience to notice things is somewhat out of whack before something serious happens. The only thing that was serious for me was tire blowouts on trailers. Last year, I had more then 1 tire blowout and different trailers. I learned that it was dryrot on the valve stems so that is something else that should be checked on your trailers as well. Having a harbor freight tire changer, it sure makes it nice and simple to replace all valve stems as a precaution.

You learn over time. You make a good point. I have had quite a few valve stems give me grief. Kind of the "Been there done that have the T-Shirt" club. Once you see it you know what to look for down the road.

Off topic how does that HF tire changer work? I have thought about getting one for some time.

I love the HF tire changer. I used it already on several cars and my trailer tires, and tractor tires for bota. Since I dont need to change tires often, It works perfect for me. I use 2 bolts to hold it in floor in anchors and remove them when I am done to reclaim floor space. It sits in the corner until I need it again. The only thing you may want to do is add couple flat bars to the tire breaker sides to stiffen them up and a welder or bolting them together is all is needed.

Thanks for the tip on the HF unit. I weld so beefing it up is not a big deal.
