2011 Superduty are out! ! !

I'm a big Ford fan , I have owned other MFG in the past , dodge , chevy, GMC etc..they all have Plus-es and minus-es . They are all truly workhorses for me and I abuse the heck out of 'em.

Once I drove a Ford, I kept coming Back. I have never purchased new. All have been used. I love the 2004 F250 v10 I'm using now. Awesome Machine.
I have been wondering how Fords new motor stacks up against my V10 or if it will feel underrated/Underpowered in the new F250.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it - I will have to wait quite a few more years to find out until the V10 needs to be put out to pasture. I do love not having a truck payment , I do love the Fords, and I do love this V10. I'll be driven it as long as it holds out.

One of the first things I did in my Dodge truck was to put in rubber floor mats. I'm talking about the kind that cover up all the carpeting. I had my truck out in the mud one day, and a friend wouldn't get in it because he had muddy boots. It has carpet and the factory floor mats had carpet. Whats the point of that? Leather seats would be sweet and they are pretty durable.

Hmm, $63,000 +6.75 local tax = $67,252.50 +$619 dealer prep/destination =67,871.50 -$13,000 trade for my truck = $54,871.50- 5k more out of pocket=$49,871.50 divided by 60mos at 0% =....... drumroll.......$831.19 !!!!! IMO, I think it is time to take the crack pipes away from the execs at the big 3, as they can't seem to fathom the fact that the average small business owner, weekend warrior racer, boater, etc. with a couple of kids and a mortgage can't throw 18 grand down a on vehicle, and pay over 800 bucks a month for 5 years if he is lucky enough to be in the market when 0% is available.

not to start an argument but everyone is fixed on the price of these trucks, they do make other models. stopped by another dealer today in gonzales and he had a new xlt model. It was priced at 51k. . . i know that that is till a lot of $ $ $ $ $ but here is what you got 6.7, cloth seats, center console, 20" wheels 4wd, xlt package (think that got you power mirrors, power seats, and auto lights with some other stuff. this truck did NOT have the tail gate step.
i think it had a $250 charge for nicer paint.
I sure the xl model will be less and again if you don't get the 6.7 you can save $7800
what i'm getting at here is that you don't have to buy one of the top of the line trucks if you don't want to and to say that all the fru fru (spelling) stuff on a Step up truck is not necessary i ask you this

Do you really need that cab on your tractor. . . 50 years ago men did real work on their tractors with no cab, no a/c, no fm radio with 6 disk cd changer. heck how many tractors 50 years ago had FEL on them. . . man those FEL are for sissies "back in my day we did it with a wheelbarrow"
all that top and tilt isn't necessary get your lazy butt off the tractor and use those muscles turn that top link.

i can go on and on but i think you get it. For me I want that leather heated and cooled seat, i want a couple extra cup holders, i want my dual zone a/c. I want to sit higher than the next guy so i can see traffic. i want all the goodies i can afford in a truck. I want to enjoy my camping trip, i want to get to the job site in comfort and when i'm tired from riding the tractor and all beat up from working the field a little pampering on the way home is nice. So what if i only use it for towing once a month, i don't want to own a nice car and a old truck and if i'm going to have a truck i want a nice one. after all it is my money.

A funny story - when I first got my new 05 F-150, literally the first day - a guy I was working with got out of it and spilled his coffee all over the seat. It was classic. I almost cried.

The way I see it the truck is 3 model years old going on 4 as the 11s are hitting the dealers. Sucks to be that dealer that he held his price so high customers avoided him. I'm sure someone on flee bay will just lay down and pay his price.
Not being a Ford person but some of my friends are mechanics and they sure LIKE the super Duty diesels. Puts food on their table on a regular basis. Fords are great as long as they are not in my driveway.

Well, they have to make money some way! Of course they will find no profit in making vehicles that people cannot afford.

I dont see the point in plush leather seats in a full size truck that based on its size should really have only one job... a work truck. (after all its the SUPERDUTY!) The idea that a vehicle that size should be used as a daily driver and therefore need "plush leather seats" is a fail IMHO

the fact that hood line sits SOOOOO high that you have to have a built in step in the bumper just to reach something like the oil dipstick is fail. if the hood lines keep moving up at the rate they are we will all be sitting up at semi truck height and be pushing 10x the air out of the way. not like the ground clearnce got any taller, not like its rideing on 35" tires and 6" of lift, they just decided to keep pushing the fender lines up because it looks cool. nothing like trying to drive a brick down the interstate at 80mph. mmmmmm gas millage...... FAIL!

you may like driving around with a billboard for a logo for the brand you drive, but IMHO its nothing more than "hey look at me" sign on the front of your truck. IMHO fail because instead of being able to distinguish your product as distinctive based on design or looks, you simply plaster a "billboard size ford oval on the front"

Again has nothing to do with brand specific ford, infact many of the other brands have many the same issues which is why virtually all new trucks (and cars for that matter) do NOT appeal to me. Which is why you wont see me buying one. Thats right, i do speak with my wallet. :thumbsup:

on the other hand, something that is bucking the above trend is the new mahindra truck which is the first "new" truck to come along since my 1994 toyota that has got me really interested in finally getting something newer....

To each his own I guess. I drive about 10,000 miles a year hauling boats for my side business. I want leather seats, heated seats, cup holders, ect on my trucks. I need a HD diesel truck to pull many of my loads which are in the 12,000# to 18,000# range for the heavier loads.

I also value ground clearance. That is the first thing I noticed I did not like about my 05 Dmax. The Dodge I had probably had the best.

Like I said to each his own. If you do not like it do not buy one. Its simple.
