pricing yanmars at the same price point as used US branded machines defeats the whole purpose of why the first dealers started importing yanmars years ago, LOW COST QUALITY TRACTOR, because now they are not deals anymore, your not saving money and the US branded machines will have a higher resale value if you needed to sale, so why buy a yanmar now?
If they are trying to make too big a profit, they won't sell any and go out of business.
Alright...... since this boring debate needs some fresh blood injected into it
how are my prices ??
Used Yanmar tractors, New Mahindra tractors, New Branson Tractors from Ernie's Imports Inc
I cannot afford nor justify putting that much money in a tractor that nice, but then, I am pretty durn broke and a pawnbroker to boot. They look like a good deal for someone that can afford them....
I bought a rough as a cobb YM 1300 with a finish mower and a few weenie implements for ~$1200~ thru my shop. There are as many buying philosophies and requirements as there are tractor owners.
I would LOVE to be able to fork out the $$$ for one of Earnie's tractors, I am sure many people do. If not, he'll either change the way he does business, or he'll go under. Personally, I hope he makes a fortune and retires at an early age! If not, he has only himself to blame.
BUT, it is HIS choice as to how he goes to market and I won't EVER throw rocks at a man for trying his best to succeed in an economy such as this. If he could make more money selling junky YM 1300's for $2000 (hey, I may have paid $1200 for it, but a man's gotta make a profit) I'm willing to bet he'd be doing exactly that.....
If ya don't like the way folks go to market, and ya think there is a better way to do it, the best answer is to open your own shop and put them out of business. Then you'll be the rich one and they'll be working for you!
I do what I do, and let others do what they do. If we can do business together, GREAT! If not, then I wish them the best of luck and hope they prosper!
