No heated WW option on my truck but it does have heated mirrors and the rear window is heated also. And it is a Florida purchased truck that sees use in Ohio in the winter. A little Winter Washer fluid on the windshield before starting breaks the wipers free while the engine warms up the compartment.

As for the recall, Toyota's fix for the throttle is to remove the carpets and blame the throttle maker. Ford's fix for the Exploders was to blame the tire maker and put worse tires on and tell the owners to run the tires at the correct pressure. Even though before they had told the owners to lower the tire pressure for a smoother ride. So GM isn't starting anything new.

Well said..

They have a minor problem with a frilly option. Unfortunately, a replacement solution is not available to them. Disable the feature, reimburse the customer the value of the option and move onto a better design and alternate vendor. I don't see reason for the uproar.:confused2:

I agree

And if it ever came to a class action lawsuit, and if people realize how they work, that means everyone in the class gets like, IDK, something like $4.36 for their trouble. Makes a mint for the class attorneys though.

Don't forget all the fun Congress would have, too, if GM waited another 6 months while trying to develop/locate an alternative...

I have the heated washer fluid option on my Tahoe and it was recalled for a new wiring harness. Works fine. It does help a little when the ice starts to accumulate on the windshield & blades, but we've probably used it 3 times in 2 years. I'll have to call the dealer & see what's up.

The Explorer debacle was the worst I remember. The Toyota one was probably just as bad. People dying because of corporate greed....:(

Hard for me to believe that thay can't make a WW heater. I can get a 12v coffee maker for about $20. Put a temp contol on it and you are pretty close. What the **** are they thinking.

Welcome to the new America!! Times have changed, it seems OK today to lie, cheat and do what ever is necessary to get ahead. Your bank is cheating you, and they get bale out money, automakers are crying poor mouth but they get help and cover up their problems. Schools lack the money for education and many of the students don't care and want the easy way out, I know as i am a teacher. It is a different playing field out there and for those of us that grew up in the 50's and still play by those rules have a hard time with the new America.

The Ford fix for the cruise control was to replace a small plug-in wire harness with one that included a fuse. It was much faster, easier, and cheaper to replace a cable in about one minute per vehicle than to replace the brake cylinders on millions of vehicles that probably would never develop the problem. If the fuse ever blew on the new harness, then Ford had a new brake cylinder design they could install. Makes business sense, and is more convenient for the customer. I have since sold the vehicle, but Ford replaced my harness in their service driveway while I waited. Took a couple minutes including writing down the vehicle serial number for their records and I was on my way. Sounds similar to what GM tried with their first attempted fix, but evidently that did not work and of course they had no new design to replace it.

Same here. It was done on 8/6/2007, I still have the vehicle, use the cruise control almost every day and so far no problem, no blown fuses.

Yeah, but the coffee maker is made in China. GM is trying to attain their level of quality first!

You are too kind to GM. I don't think they really care. It is too bad governments didn't let them sink.
It's too bad the Gov't didn't stay out of how it was done. In a normal BK Court, the creditors would have gotten the company, not the unions and the Gov't. It would have been fine to lend GM and Chrysler the monies but when the Gov't broke the rules of bankruptcy, it was just another power grab by the Gov't. In a normak BK case, both would have gone into Chapter 7 if not viable or Chapter 11 if viable. Chapter 11 would have dumped the union contracts and much of the pensions. That would have put GM and Chrysler in a better position to compete with the other compaies that don't pay union rates or have workers sitting at home doing nothing and getting 80% of their pay.
