The pictures there were before I hooked-up to run Hog on back three acres.I sit mine down when not in use on 4X4's(pressure treated)flat on ground of course.Covered by tarp and all components well greased.No more room in shop.The Bush Hog and my 1958 Servis E3wm rear blade have to sleep outside.
Heres also a pic of my Cosmo 500 seed spreader(upside down)on bench w/screwdriver holding short pto shaft"in place".

I use the kind of cheap chain they make for dog runs, kind of a double link, maybe 10 ga. wire. Clip the ends together with a snaffle, real simple and lasts a long time.

My Bush Hog sq172 came w/welded on support bracket for PTO shaft.

Now that is slick. Even faces it downward so it doesn't fill up with rain.

What is a snaffle?

Don't know the right name. It's the thing just to the right of the purple carabiner in the photo. You see 'em on horse leads and such, someone probably knows what to call it.
