Bidding against themselves ??

I think what you are seeing is someone placing their top bid, which doesn't show until someone else bids over that top bid. Intermediate bids show up, and look like bidding against themselves...

One reason I don't like ebay... I don't know what the heck is going on with the process...

On ebay, when you bid on an item that is $10, you may bid $10 or you may place a maximum bid of, let's say, $75. If you place a $75 bid then ebay will bid $10 for you and every time someone else bids on it they will automatically raise your bid above theirs until you reach your maximum bid of $75.

If no one else bids on the item it will sell to you for $10 even though you bid a maximum of $75.

This is why it was so important for many people to bid on this jacket. Even though one person placed a high maximum bid, it would have sold for a low price if others had not made their bids to increase the bid of the high bidder.

So every bid that every one made was very important and I would like to thank everyone who has bid on this jacket so far and hopefully, we will have some more bids before the auction ends.

I'll be watching the final bidding from the side lines The wife is leaving for the wk/ed :thumbsup: but will not give me the password to ebay :mur: Even after I said I would "donate" the sale of a spike aerator to the "cause"...

Anyone looking for a spike aerator in NC???
