So today I attached my old box scraper and was grading the driveway. About halfway down the driveway the box had accumlated a lot of gravel so I hastily lifted it to allow some to spread out. Well I lifted the box too far and one scraper tooth on each side hit the tires at about 8-10mph. It broke the teeth off of the scraper and cracked the 3pt box which immediately started leaking.

Sooooo, how much is this bout of stupidity going to cost me? I google the name of the company on the part in the pictures and it appears that it's made in Turkey? What's that about? I am wondering what part number this is and how much labor you think it's going to cost to repair it. I will probably hire somebody to come out as it's going to be too expensive and time consuming to haul it to the dealer.

Here are the pictures:

around $750 for the part plus a few seals and o rings... just replaced one this spring on my tractor i bought from salvage. not a real bad job but gotta be careful with the rockshaft seals and linkages....

I would try to take it off and weld it, it is cast iron. what happened is the rockshaft went to high and the arm pushed the back out, same thing as mine but i didn't get the missing pieces with mine, and it looks like you have all the pieces still somewhat attatched...

check with your insurance company, they may cover it also.....

$750?! OMG, the part looked like it would be fairly small once it was disconnected. I was thinking in the $150 range. Ugh.

it is the whole top of the transmission, it extends to the front edge of your seat....take the seat off, and the plastic seat pan, then it isn't too bad of a job...

Nope, deductible is $1000.

I've been doing that for years, just pulled the box up too far. I don't have time to blade a 1/4 mile driveway at 1mph. :)

It would take less time than that repair will. :)
