Wow! Broke the teeth on the tires? I cant get my box blade to touch my tires no matter how high I lift it. There must be at least 16" between blade and tire. Your tractor obviously has a tighter geometry in the rear.

Hope you can find a good welder. That could save you some major bucks!

I agree with welding this back together, looks like plenty of room to make this a good fix. Should save you some money.

I have the largest Frontier boxblade they make and it can be lifted all the way with lots of clearance, I am curious as to why your BB is so close to the tires. You might consider getting an IMatch as this would give you more clearance for your implements.

Just off the top of my head, Perhaps attempt a "JB Weld" project first. Just a thought from. regards,

The part may be expensive, but the repair is actually pretty straight forward. If you're in the slightest mechanical, you should be able to do it yourself without too much trouble. Should save you about $3-400 in labor.

You also may be able to find the part online through one of the tractor graveyards for quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the replies. The box blade is some old thing I found on craigslist. Not sure if that's the issue or what, as no matter how I adjust it, it can always touch the tires when it's pulled up.

LVA14487 as listed in the parts catalog.

Thank you sir! I ran that through a couple of sites and came up with $685 and $710. Wife is not happy!

I would think that finding a good welder who can stick your cast piece back together would be the way to go. It looks like the leak is the only real problem. It's pretty much intact on the strength parts it seems.

Deere's shop manuals recommend using a hoist or two people to lift that component off the tractor due to its weight and being in a slightly awkward position due to the fenders and other stuff nearby.

Yeah, that's an expensive oops I'm afraid.

Deere has been getting those components from HEMA for years as my 2001 4200 has one.

I can't tell from the pics (and I'm not familiar with that part) just where the crack goes. Would that crack go through a bore or pass through any other machined mating surface? If it does, then welding would have be followed up with some machine work to true up those surfaces. If it's just cracked through the case, then it may be possible to glue it back together with some Ni99, Super Missle, or stainless steel rod & TIG welder.

If it were mine, and it the crack was in a weldable location, I wouldn't hesitate to try to weld it back together. What's the worst that can happen??? you screw the piece up and have to buy a replacement?
