I just thought it sounded too cheap

Most posts I read say it (Rim Guard) was too expensive

$250 for that much weight is worth it to me

I wouldn't go to a dealer again, he charged me 60 bucks for the rimguard on my zero turn and 60 bucks for labor for 20 gallons total. Ouch!

Do a search in your area for rimguard dealers and go from there. I had mine done by Freedom tire and I THINK they are national.

Thanks, I couldn't find anyone but the JD dealer a couple of towns away.

I just took my tractor for Rim Guard. 80 gallons cost me $3.00 per gallon...or $240. That equates to 880 lbs for my tractor. I had my tires changed from one side to the other at the same time...he charged me $40 for that.

I got about the same price from another Rim Guard dealer before I found a more convenient dealer for me to haul my tractor to. I have heard that $3.00 per gallon was about standard on new tire installs. If you had cal chloride or other fluids....its gonna cost more.

I check a few places around me and the general price was $3 a gallon. For what you're getting it's the best way to go. I think I read that they are out of the MI area, don't know for sure though, so maybe the price is cheaper because you're closer. I've had too many wheels rust through after a number of years so I like the idea of a liquid that's heavier than water or wwf and will not rust the wheels.

I took mine to a JD dealer, slip says 17 gallons.
I was charged 42.50 for the rimguard(2.50 per gallon), but I was also charged labor of 26.50.
With tax it cost me 71.55 to fill my 12x12x26 inch tires.
Did I pay too much..........Yes and no.
I paid more than most(and i took the tires to the dealer), but it was the closest place, he did it on my schedule, and I haven't had to put my ballast barrel back on since.
