tc29
I have a TC29 (not supersteer) & it is not set up for a loader today. I'm in the process of buying a left over, still in the crate, 14LA loader for it. It's supposed to come w/ the joystick control valve, hose etc, everything needed to make it operational. Is this a big project to hook everything from the loader to the tractor, or is there a lot involved w/ setting it up? Any help is appriciated since this is all new to me.
Thanks
Jim

I have a TC-29D with a 7308 loader but I had the dealer install it. I am not that gifted so if you have those skills great but in my opinion if you have never worked with that kind of thing I would be careful but hey, it is just me - I do my maintenance and routine service but not beyond that.

if you don't know already, you really want to get the hydraulics RIGHT. make sure you have good clear instructions on how to hook it up, otherwise you risk a blown hydraulic pump or other bits.

can't help with any specifics other than that. good luck and have fun, sounds like a fun project.

Jim, what year model is your TC29? The 14LA is made for tractors made afer 2004. If you have an early TC29D, the loader will probably not fit correctly. Of course, the dealer should have asked and told you that before selling you the loader.

We bought the TC29,4wd, hydro in 2000 so I think it's a 1999. The local dealer said the old 7308, newer 14LA & the newest 240TL all would fit. Then I ordered the 14LA from another dealer & they said it would fit the TC29 after I said I had a 1999 model. I think it may have already shipped but I'll call the dealer again to make sure it fits. Why would think the 14LA doesn't fit my 1999 TC29?
Thanks

When they came out, the word was that they could not be retrofitted to the older Class II tractors. The 14LA has higher lift specs than the 7308. It was my understanding that the front axle and mounting was stronger on the 2004 and later tractors. If your dealer says it fits, ask him how many he has installed on pre-2004 tractors. I don't know for sure, but if you search this forum, you surely can find application postings related to the 14LA.

14LA front end loader - update

I asked a follow up question:
"Will the 14LA only work on new tractors or will it also work on older (existing) ones?"

I got this response:
"The 14LA will work on existing Class II Boomers, not just new ones that come with the 14LA."

I cut this is from another thread I found on here. Am I reading this correctly? It does say that the factory says that the 14LA will fit?

Thanks

Yep, you cut that from a post by Mosey, who was asking about the 14LA in an email before the 14LA came out. Just before that quote, the Cust. Svc. Representative had told him they could not release info about unreleased products. What I'm saying is that the inference many not be accurate. If I was going to invest as much money as you are in this loader, I'd ask the dealer if he has ever installed one on a pre-2004 tractor and I'd also write an email inquiry to New Holland to ask if it will work in your application. I could easily be wrong, but I'd feel really bad if I let you buy this and it didn't work without at least "raising the flag" and saying you should be sure. I just want you to be happy with your loader. If I am wrong, I'd love to know it also.

EDIT: There used to be a dealer on here who posted regularly. He doesn't post much anymore, but his user name is spencer200. Check out this post by him in relation to the 14LA. This is source of my concern.

I can't thank you enough, we'll I could send you barrel of $$$ right? You were right after all. I called the local dealer back & pinned him down on your exact points, so I heard him on the other end flipping though stuff & reading under his breath & he finally said, he was sorry & was previously incorrect & loader in fact will NOT fit. It was $3100 brand new, in the crate, everything included plus $350 s/h from CA to PA. I then called the seller & told them it wouldn't fit which they still arn't sure about. I did stop the shipment, just in time!!! Yippee!!! She said they have a 7308 still new & in the crate w/ everything included for $100 more. I'll be ordeing that one instead, thanks to you.

Thanks again
Jim

scram98400jm....Now you have the right loader but I still caution you about installing it yourself, unless you have help and the knowledge...this is heavy equipment and you need the right tools and knowledge...Good Luck:)
