Those wusses would probably just go the safe route and use a crashtest dummy first.

I seem to recall that they did. It was using a slingshot to cross illegally into the USA from Canada. Conclusion...BUSTED!

I remember that one! And it wasn't Canada they were coming from...lol...nice try! (Truth be told, very few Canadians want to leave Canada for any other country.) That was a slingshot and this is a ...well... what do you call it? In one you are securely strapped in, in the other you are sitting free in a sling, so I think that would make quite a bit of difference. I'd like to see if the "load" always traveled back and forth horizontally without once touching the earth and also see just exactly what the G forces involved are.

I could have sworn it was Canada; but I agree with your comment regarding Canadians being happy in their country. Actually I know of a couple that came here from Calgary and squirted out three 'Anchor Babies' to stay in the USA.
