When my bride an I first got married she told me to never wear the ring when I was working around equipment. (Of course the Air Force had some regulations about that as well) She said she would rather I keep all appendages attached where they were supposed to be. The ring went into my pocket on an attachment to the house keys. Worked well for the past 25 years.

I got married and told my bride to be, don't bother getting me a ring because I will never ever wear it, so we had the ceremony without a ring to me. I have never ever been able to wear anything but a watch. It just drives me nuts having something on my fingers or around my neck like these chains people wear. I never will wear a tie, and will never button the top button of a shirt AHHHHHHHHH
I've used Duct tape for sprained ankles and wrists in the field. Wrap the sprained area with some sort of paper FIRST, ( toilet paper, news paper, paper towels etc. ) so the Duct tape doesn't stick to your skin. If it's an ankle take the sock and cut it off later.

I'd say that the O-6 ID card stopped about everybody.Oh, I NEVER had any problems....I would locate the loudest "snicker-er", put on my best "war-face" and ask in my "outside voice"....
"....YOU FIND SOMETHING "FUNNY" HERE, TROOPER (Sailor, Marine, etc)...??!!!"
....if the gray hair, unmarked BDU's and 6' x 250lbs didn't work, then that "O-6" ID card did...

The "O-6" indicates a rank of Full Colonel or Naval Captain...
Even tho I was a Civilian contractor, Medics were considered priority personnel...I was issued that card so I could use military air transport when no civilian assets were able to fly...
I never had to use it for that in 3 years...and there were enough folks with them running around Baghdad that an O-6 card and $5 would get you a cheap cigar...

In other words (as I understand it), someone to whom you say sir yes sir because they can make your life miserable if you get on their bad side.
