new 08 has been sitting on dealers lot and sold it to me for 39250. front hydraulics which I will never use. I let my 2000 580l with only 1470hr on it go for $22k. Thats a hard one. But I have a plumbing company and plumb over a hundred houses a year. Up until the housing crash all my work was concentrated in one are, now I am spread out over several counties and cant drive it this much over the road and hauling charges for a couple of jobs is too much. So now I own a kubota. For me the 12' dig in a smaller machine is what sold me. I demo'd it a couple of times also. So one good thing is now it wont cost me $400 bucks to bring it to my farm. also got a 14k gator trailer with it. I will miss the ac/heat but in a few years if things clear up I may get a new 580.

Congrats on the new purchase. If you find that you really miss the heat and AC and things start going better for you, why not just buy a Loren Cab with heat and AC for your Kubota? I've seen one set up this way and it was very nice. Plus I really think that for what you are doing it's tough to beat a machine the size of the Kubota M59. It really is a right size machine for making water and sewer service connections and things of that nature. It isn't as destructive as a bigger, heavier backhoe and will still do everything you would like to do. I know in this area a lot of guys are making a killing with their mini excavators and mini backhoes because they spend less time repairing grass, etc. for their customers than they would with bigger, heavier machines. A lot of homeowners prefer the smaller machines to be working on their property as well. I'd love to own a Kubota M59 some day, great all around machine for what I would use it for.

I think you'll find the m59 will be a better fit for your business. Since you said you're going to miss the A/C I'm assuming that it's not a cab model. In the future you may just upgrade to a M59 with a/c and heat. I love my 580K and after reading threads from people digging things like stumps up I realize just how much power it has but, and I'm only guessing here, I think the extra power may be wasted for a pumbing company and the extra size and weight really aren't helping you.

With the M59 moving it will be easier. While I have used a 1 ton to move my 580K, it's really pushing the boundry. Until I bought my 2 1/2 ton International I would have to pay each time I moved it, $65 an hour, gets pricey quickly. Even now the international only gets a few miles per gallon so I rarely move it due to costs.

You'll want to be a little careful but I think your 3/4 ton will pull the M59 fine. Just read up on the laws as far as strapping it down. You may even need a DOT number since you are a business.

I don't believe that a factory cab is available for the M59. I know it isn't listed as an option on the Kubota website under "build your own." I know the Kubota dealer that I saw a brand new M59 cab model at had a Loren cab unit.

Local dealer put a Curtis cab on one here this past spring - looked factory after it was done.
