B3200 rear remotes, is power beyond a must?

I'm having a hard time believing that i have a chance to correct AKKAMAAN.....LOL... i think that you will find that the reason for limiting the tank pressures on the prince valves is due to the internal PR's and the auto cycle circuits that these valves can come with.
So to protect them from a potential problem of having the PR in the valve bank being the only PR in the system and having more than 500psi on the tank line (2000 psi PR setting + 500 psi tank pressure = 2500 psi pump pressure) or (2000 psi PR setting + 1500 psi tank pressure = 3500 psi pump pressure) can we see the problem???? , so they decided to limit the tank pressure. The auto cyclers do not like high return pressure PERIOD ... it really sends them for a loop. I hope this helps???

Thanks glastron23!
Great point!!
I can make that one #1 or #2 if you want...LOL:thumbsup:....we do have three (3) good reasons now!!

I actually think Your point is similar to wdchyd's point on his previous post.....additive pressure's

Had an email conversation with Jeremy Allen, Sales Manager at Prince Hydraulics....

Seems like some of us have been saying that for a long time.
Although, I think some valves can have the same rating on both pressure port and tank port. All those tractors that don't have PB, have to be able to have a high rating on the out/return port for the 3pt to operate. Just what pressure does the 3pt operate, is that not dictated by the load and the relief valve?

There are, obviously many reasons to use power beyond connection...
If one look at it this way.....there are two "types" of return oil in the open center system....

A:....oil straight from pump via open center, diverted or full flow...

B:....oil from cylinders via work port into return core....can be full pump flow, part of diverted pump flow, and even higher than max pump flow...even MORE important is the return flow from activated built in PRV's

A and B flow always need to be separated with a PB sleeve, if we add a downstream valve

If we do not use proper PB connection, the return from cylinders will add into the open center of the down stream valve flow, and we will pressurize the return core and the spool seals. We will also create back pressure on ALL PRV's that are built into the CV (thanks Glastron23 and wdchyd).
Of course this back pressure will be effecting the operation of our safety feature PRV. We do not want to mess with safety....

The built in tractor hydraulics are many time different designed than added implement hydraulics, like if a CV is built into the reservoir in the trac, it wont need any seals on the spools, oil will leak into the reservoir and not down on the ground.....and return can technically be pressurized on such a valve.....That's the only logic explanation I can see to J_J's comment....

Again, I ask: Where are all the post's about backhoe valves and 3PH logsplitters valve leaking/cracking?

I fully understand Power Beyond, and think is should ALWAYS be used when practical, but sometimes it just isn't.

I believe the answer is really simple. If a valve were to leak badly, or crack, the avg person would not know why. If he should install the same valve and it does it again, he might have a clue. I can agree that it has been done, but at some risk. I talked to the Prince hydraulic rep, months ago, and he said the same thing.

Are there any 3pt experts that can explain about the pressure, any relief valves, and what type valve is the 3pt valve.. Maybe the 3pt doesn't use full pressure to operate the cyl, and therefore the valve up stream might never see high pressure. Is the 3pt valve a selector valve, or a flow control type valve?
.
You do not see many references about the relief on the 3pt valve. Why ?

No doubt you are The PB Wiz of TBN!!

It is not the down stream backhoe valve or down stream 3PH log splitter valve that's vulnerable. It is the up stream PB hosting, "mother valve"....

If this valve is a built in valve the the tractor transmission or whatever, there will probably not be any spool seals that can be blown out... And it is possible that housing will withstand this increased pressure, and max pressure , PRV by-pass is pretty occasional on regular operation.
I made a follow up question the the Prince rep, about the max pressure in return core, and he said that it possible it will crack over time (material fatigue?).

I still believe this is valid though....

That is my point too, as I just posted to Kennyd...
