Boomer 8N

In our Saturday errand running my wife and I went by the NH dealer to buy some Ford tractor parts. My wife was around an 8N when she was a little girl and the first thing she said when we walked up to it was "it's too big!"

Like others I believe if they had made a 25HP version and priced it competitively with everything of that size they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough. I know several people with small places that would probably replace their 8N's with one.

It just surely wouldn't cost any more to build the appropriate size tractor to look like an 8N, then use the looks to drastically improve the production quantities. Oh well, whenever they decide they want me as the Marketing Manager I'll point out the obvious to them. I doubt that they will be emailing me with a job offer any time soon.

Dealer near me has one with a loader for $28950. It has 50 hours on it. Price has been going down a little every few months. If they threw in the split brake kit and some remotes I could be tempted at $27500.

You need to talk to them, not us :) ... oh and post pics as soon as a deal is struck

Capitalism is alive and well. There is nothing more powerful than the law of supply and demand. The lesson learned should be that demand may be largely negatively impacted if you overprice your product.

Okay enough of my soapboxing. Check out the price of this new Boomer 8N. Now, that is tempting!:licking:

Now that's more like it.

I wonder if it has a super-suspensiony seat? The seat bottom looks to be just barely higher than the steering wheel, so you'd have to hunch over to steer.

Maybe it's all adjustable.

Here's mine for comparison; seat bottom much lower than the steering wheel:

Is it a stripped down version of the much more expensive one or did they just have a high list price to start with?

I don't think they make a stripped version. One really loaded and fancy. One really loaded only I think.

New Holland's deluxe steering wheels not only adjust in tilt, but also extend and retract for comfortable height. The seat does have very nice and adjustable spring suspension.

They do have some additional options, but most are included in the package. When they came out, they priced the tractor about $10k too high in my opinion. Nobody in their right mind would pay those prices for a 50 hp compact tractor; certainly not and then work it like a normal tractor.
