Haven't seen a rake used (although I have read, IIRC, of other TBNers using rakes), but I have seen power brooms used for lighter (3-4 inches) snows...worked good too (on asphalt). Again, IIRC, there was a pic posted of a smaller Deere (4100, I think) using a broom on sidwalks.

I purchased this snowblower this summer ($75.00) I cleaned it all up and painted it,replaced all the bearings with new and put new front shoes on it.

I have never had this much weight on the front of this tractor, and man is it hard to turn.I made up a weight wrack in the rear,so that should help a bunch.

Great deal! I'd like to say,"Why don't I get deals like that but I can't. I bought $2500.00 of lathes and parts for 150 bucks once!".

I think you'll find once the white stuff hits you have an easier time steering.

JD dealer delivered the new Frontier SB1164 rear blower today. He had to shorten the PTO shaft but no other problems. Runs quietly without vibration. I have more pictures if anyone wants to see them? :)

Nice.!!

I love the "whackers" on the ends of the auger. Nicely built unit right there.
