Probably my most memorable .22 is a Cooey bolt action repeater purchased for $12.99 with money from weasel skins. Put a weaver 4 power scope on it and used it till it the extraction clips and firing pin wore out. Replaced it with a Winchester model 66 semi auto when I was maybe 15 years old.:D Still got them both.:):)

I remember back in my high school days carrying my Savage competition rifle to school on the bus. If I was low on ammo, I could always pick up a spare box or 2 in the school office! Those were the days!

Ruger 10/22 for plinking, affordable, fun to shoot rifle. But my favorite overall plinking, fun gun to shoot is my Ruger .22 Mark II pistol. I've had more people then I can even remember out here to shoot, from youngsters to grandma's. Everyone wants to shoot the 22 pistol. It's just a fun, easy gun to shoot.

You know, a friend of mine let me shoot his many years ago. It WAS a fun gun!

My favorite is the Remington Nylon 66. I have the black and chrome version bought in the seventies. It has thousands of rounds shot through it and never been cleaned. Never jammed or misfired. Ken Sweet

Mossberg 144 LSB! At the time I bought it, it was the only repeating .22 rimfire that had more than a 20-1/2" barrel, it has a 26". Did a lot of squirrel hunting in those days! Also have a couple of the Winchester 1890's plus one model 90, a newer version. ~~ grnspot110

Savage bolt action with the accutrigger. I also have a nice 3-9 40mm scope and a bipod on it. i can sit on my deck and hit ground hogs/squirrls, targets its a blast.
I didnt go with the semi only because you cant hunt with semi's in pa(rifle anyway).

I have an old Harrington & Richardson bolt action with a Bushnell 4x scope. I don't remember the model number and it is up at the shop right now. Pretty old but I was able to get parts for it a few years back, new ejectors, firing pin and magazines. Needs a new firing pin spring too. Had no clips for it when I first got it, just a block of wood in the magazine hole to make it a single shot... sure teaches you to make those shots count!

This thing is far more accurate and could shoot farther distances than a Ruger 10/22 I once shot side-by-side. I love the challenge of a long, well-placed shot so this has always been my favorite gopher gun. :D

Mine is an old Marlin 39 lever action with a 24" barrel and a 4x scope.
My eyes aren't what they used to be, so I'm more a plinker then a target shooter anymore.

Henry lever actions are nice too! I had one of those for a couple years...then the Marlin came around.

My son has a Henry lever action and he loves to shoot that gun. He is getting quite accurate.

I like my Marlin .22 Mag.
