Slowing snow plow movement

Mounted a snow plow on my TC40DA FEL. Ran lines from the rear remotes. Works great, except for the super fast movement of the blade. I am assuming I need a couple of these - Buyers Flow Control Valve-1/2in. | Adjustable Flow Valves | Northern Tool + Equipment - to gain some control. Any issues or concerns with install these?

I put one in my plow setup to control the up/down lift speed and found after I got used to the controls, cracked it wide open and rendered it useless. Wasted $39. It's still in the circuit just not of any function.

I tried feathering the remote lever, but I think the flow is just too much for those small angle cylinders. I just barely cracked it and it swung in a hurry. I am not crazy about about spending $80+, but don't want to damage anything.

Have you tried idling down the tractor first? I have no problem with my Meyer plow on the remotes of my Jinma but its only 5 gpm flow rate.

I haven't, but it is a hydro and I'm not use to adjusting the throttle once I get rolling. It is a Meyer plow and I put new cylinders on it. I want to make sure I don't damage the FEL.

Or you can get "fixed" ones for much less, it's just a swivel fitting with a very small hole in them: Swivel Adapter, 3/8 in. Restricted Male Pipe x 3/8 in. Female Pipe Swivel - 1818147 | Tractor Supply Company

I was looking at the 1/2" model. The price is about the same. Since I'm unsure how much I'll need to restrict the flow, I think I'll go with the adjustable model.

Your cylinders probably have 1/4" NPT fittings...you shouldn't need 1/2" ones. No troubles at at using them.

Take a suitable male/female fitting and braze the passageway shut.
Drill a small (maybe 3/32" or 1/8") hole to restrict flow.
Start small and enlargen 'til you get the flow U want.
