One thought I'll throw out-My first serious introduction to "Country" music was probably the Urban Cowboy soundtrack. Before that, I couldn't stand to hear country/western, and especially Hank Sr. Kind of thought it was as bad as "Opera". Well, that Urban Cowboy introduction led me to an appreciation for any "Country" music, including the older artists, like Ernest Tubbs, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, and yes, even Hank Sr!
Today I have a pretty wide range of music styles. Never thought I'd have the 60's and 70's rock on my Ipod, along with Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, and heaven forbid, Country!
Thank goodness for Sirius/XM radio. They've got the older country artists on some channels who you rarely hear on commercial radio because it's not viable.
Hate rap, and still don't care for Opera.
