Well I am glad I am not the only one who can't take the whining of today's country music:thumbsup:

Got a lot of nice leads out of this thread - let me throw some names in here:

Rodney Carrington - adult content most of the time, but it makes my laugh
Da Yoopers - anybody knows?

This "Rodney Carrington" is another example of the changes of peoples interest these days, my son (30-years old) came in one day and asked that I check out this new comedian, so I tuned him in from youtube and must say I was not much amused by his type of humor, I thought he was revoking actually and would not like to had watch or listen to him while in mixed company, I'm not sure as to what happen over the previous generations and or why a Man would want to take his girlfriend/wife out to watch or listen to people like this Rodney C.?
I suspect would be the lack of or little less respect these days for their lady friends,
I was raised up in the 60's& 70's listening to people like Ray Stevens and the Jerry Clower Power hour or the Corney Comedians from HeeHaw Show,
Jerry Clower and all the other comedians from back then could be listened by any member of the family without worry of your children hearing inappropriate punchlines, although sometimes Old Clower
would push it over the top but you'd have to been an adult to know what he was meaning by what he said ;) this one is about as over the top as Ol-Jerry would go :D YouTube - Jerry Clower - A New Bull

Like I said times have changed and the younger generations have need for a different style of entertainment, I can't help but to think what my 3 & 5 year old grandchildren are going to be subjected to in their future:confused2:

I mean, I listen to country music most of the time, but lately it is just annoying. If you compare classics like All my exes live in Texas or Mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys or the good old Johny Cash - current country music just plain sucks; wouldn't you agree? There is a lot of whining and nothing catchy in lyrics or melody.

Proof you are growing old

Farm Fresh. Great group from the Calif foothills. The group, started as high school kids that were in 4H together. Have seen them a few times at local functions. They have a couple CD's available, and have playedsome large bluegrass festivals. All the scenes in "Life of Pain" were shot near the center of the Gold Rush country, in and around Coloma Ca.

It's great to find local gems like this.

Thanks Layne. I like him and he covers a lot of tunes that I like.

No problem, I figured a few of you guys would like it.

I find it amazing that a fellow of his talent is "unknown." I know he doesn't want to be known, but noone can figue out who he is. My guess, he's a session player in Nashville, or has a face like a bulldog and just doesn't want to be seen.

My in-law's being Czech I was surprised to learn about the popularity of country music. Kinda funny in a way to hear a guy singing 'American' country music in another language.

If you sit in Czech by a camp fire, it is very likely somebody will play guitar and over half of songs will be known to you.

I would have to disagree.

I love Toby Keith and Tim McGraw. Can listen to their songs (and they have a lot) all day.

Can't stand those cry babies, that long wailing they produce makes me get to the radio as fast as possible with four letter word and change the station. Each it's own I guess.
