New X749 on the way

Very nice.. very nice! I wouldn't dare let my wife know anything about a x749.

If she knew that there was a small footprint tractor with 3pt and pto that would handle all her horse chores AND the mowing... well, she'd likely put my 110TLB on Craigslist!!

Congrats on buying an X749!!

The X700 series are an awsome mower!!! I bought an 07 Deere X744 with 48" deck this past june, does not have 4X4 but man they are a powerful machine for sure... plus extremly bright headlights!! Got mine with 692hrs and now have 783hrs on her, definately hard going back to a 455 even though I love my 455 Deere as well.

Wish I could have got an X748/9 with 4X4 but maybe some day and the 455 is getting older although its barly broken in at 1,205hrs... but I can see having a 2nd Xseries in the future.

ZTR's are nice as well, work for a local conservation authority on the side and have ran a Deere 997 Z-track with 72 inch deck, can cut a lot of grass in a hurry and nothing is as fast as a ZTR.... But speed is not everything, and for me I like my Deere Garden tractors... they work well for my side line lawn care business, If I had 90+ lawns, I would have a ZTR, but I don't so I stick with my Deere 455 & X744 and together they can get a lot of grass cut, not as fast as a ZTR, but fast enough to satisfy my needs as well as the customer.

Those 997's are sweet to run though.

Well I have only put a little over 2 hrs on it so far, hoping to get to use it and take some pics later in this week.

I chose the X749 instead of a high end ztr because I wanted the pto and 3pt hitch. Mowing speed is less of a concern than the other things I need it to do. I was a little nervous about the 3pt hitch but it seems to work well and is better built than I thought.

Thanks for the interest.

Thats another reason I went with an X series Deere and a 455, I can do more with them, besides cutting grass, I think in a few years I will get a 2305 or an X748 to replace the 455 but we will see what happens, the 455 has been a great mower, just getting older but I hate to trade the 455 with only 1,205 hrs.... might trade the F1145 Deere instead, which I also own.
