You all have made some great recommendations. I have already taken detailed photos and have been putting the bolts removed into to corresponding hole of the new parts. I don't know if my last picture of the steering gearbox is detailed enough, but it has the old bolts are in the new gearbox. My challenge will be the small parts and linkages to the cruise control and emergency brake. I also ordered all new fasteners for everything on the dash and they supplied them to me in one ziplock bag with all the part numbers handwritten on the bag. Thanks for not putting them in separate bags Kubota! I have an airframe and powerplant (A&P) liscense and years ago worked as an aircraft mechanic so I am comfortable with a wrench just not used to seeing cast iron parts lol. Now everyone is probably wondering why I initially didn't plan on doing this myself from the beginning and the answer is simply that I have too many irons in the fire as it is and I have to choose which ones to tend to. I am working my "real" job this weekend and I am off next week and so I am putting it in print, this tractor will be moving wood next weekend! Now you TBN followers must hold my feet to the fire so I can back up my goal.

I had about an hour or two this evening and have made the turn from removing to replacing. I have the new complete wire harness about 75% installed. I am impressed with the harness in that it even came with the frame clamps in place. I still plan it moving wood this weekend. Only hiccup so far is my old fuel cap doesn't fit the new tank.

Hi everybody. I am a newby from 2 days ago and I realy enjoy this site.
I have worked in the insurance business for 40 yrs, before retiring this year, and I thought I should try to help regarding this thread.
It is very important to check with your insurance broker to find out if your tractor is covered.
The homeowner policy will cover most of the small lawn tractors for this loss, if you have an all risks policy on you contents, but there is a limitation as far as value. Again check with your broker as it varies between companies as far as the limit.
For the bigger tractors you will have to have aditional coverage to cover them and this is done only by companies who writes farm insurance.
So again the best advise is check with your broker, don't presum it is covered cause you will have an unpleasant surprise after the loss.
Hope this will help you. Good luck.
P.S. sorry for the mistakes cause I am not English speaking. Thank you for understanding

I am very surprised you bought a new harness. Why didn't you fix the existing one?

There were three plastic plug ends that were completely demolished. Smashed flat as a pancake. I am not sure you can just buy the plug ends. That harness was $307 so I would like to have had another option. Installation will take about an hour total.

I plan on putting in a full day on it tomorrow.

Indeed you cannot buy the special connector that goes to the instrument
cluster. I looked into that for my 4300 since a couple of the pins were
getting flaky and intermittant. That was the only special connector I
had.....yours might have more.

That hidden damage sure adds up.

Off subject but what purpose are the two PVC tubes (mounted vertical next to loader)? Is this a type of storage bin?

Thanks
