Tractor
Kubota L5460HSTC; Volvo ECR88 excavator; Dresser TD9H dozer; Bandit RM990 chipper (sold)
So the new (to me) tractor is in the garage and I can't tell if the rear wheels (R4) are in the widest position. The centers are dished out, the rim lugs are external to the center and the valve stems are facing in. Can I get more clearance if I move the wheels so the valve stems face out?

Put a straight board across the tire and measure to the lugs on each side. Put the shorter distance in towards the tractor.

Or... post a photo of the tire here, and we'll let you know. What model tractor is this?

Agreed as there are several different configurations.

Thanks for the replies. I measured across the rim and this is the mid position. Valve stem out is the wide position. I spent 3 hours very carefully swapping tires to widen the rear wheel track and make clearance for chains. Tractor is a 5240 cab and so far I am loving the cab!!!

I had mine widened prior to delivery as I didn't want to wrestle with filled tires. I sure know what you mean as we have cabs on our L5030 and M8540; love it.

TripleR - I also asked that the tires be set in the widest position since I run on hilly property and would be using chains. Tractor was delivered in the mid position. Oh well, time well spent with my son.

I've only had the cab for a couple days but working in windy, 30 degree weather in a tee shirt puts a smile on my face, I'm almost looking forward to plowing snow this year. I'll pay for it in the spring when I'm widening and raising height in the woods. Jim
