It's A LOT of fun right up until it gets to be work then it's a P.I.T.A. like everything else.

Exactly. for years I cleared a few neighbor's driveways (this was pre BX.. just using my Rincon and 48" plow). I didn't ask for anything in return because it was "fun" to me.

After last year and our 20000000 feet of snow, I called it quits. This year I had a couple people asking sheepishly if I was still clearing (after they knew I wasn't) and I said no.

It was actually just a experiment to see what would happen when I take away "entitlements". Surprisingly enough, they adjusted. lol

Tried out my new rear mount B278, 51" blower on my BX25 this weekend. About 6" of snow. Works great! Just had to be careful when getting to the bottom of a hill, as it had a tendency to dig in, digging up the gravel underneath. Then, you have to lower it again as you go up over the crown of a hill. Also, the hand crank for the chute rotator was on the left, but it was better to look back over my right shoulder since the pedals were there. And, yes, I did get a stiff neck, so I would like to check out some rear view cameras.

It also took a bit of getting used to driving backwards and steering. However, it took on anything, including a huge pile of snow from the roof of a neighbour's plastic garage that he had raked off the garage. If anything, you have to slow down just to make sure you don't overdo it and run into something. (Fortunately, even though I dug up a bit of gravel and chipped off some paint, I did not cut any shear bolts.)

We had record snow falls as well last year. I have several neighbors that laugh at my little BX and tell me to get a real tractor. I'll just say I really enjoyed watching them get their atv's stuck then have the whole family out there trying to dig the ATV out. My grader blade turned backwards made short work of the snow and the bucket gave me the ability to move the snow as more accumulated. Best part was watching them hit the ice wall at the end of the drive way that is left by street plows. That sudden stop sure looked painful.

I've mentioned this before, but for those that are considering a 3PH blower on a BX I'd suggest a 60" model. With the exception of the super wet snow it really doesn't have much problem taking a full swath. In fact just yesterday I was blowing back snowbanks and the entire 60"x24" blower opening was consuming snow. Tach showed the RPMs dropped by about 200 revs with it full of snow versus empty.

I just came in from plowing snow with this BX1500.
I only have my loader and a back blade for snow removal. Last year it was the loader only, a two wheel drive JD 110 (74?) and a "mini" swisher bucket from TSC with home made arms and such. I had a blast! Slow as molasses, slow hydro, old slow gear tractor etc. Last year it took 8 hrs and two quarts of oil to do my drive and around my shop, if I didn't get stuck. We've had two significant snows here this winter (12" and 6") my 1860 and the loader did it in 2 hrs. If you started out with a shovel, the BX is hard to beat.

I had a BX1850 for 2 yrs.and cleared my driveway with the front loader and boxblade on the rear to do clean-up,the 2 of them worked great for me. I traded the 1850 for a BX25 this summer and just got a 50" front mount snowblower for it,but haven't had any snow to try it out. I have the boxblade on the rear for ballast and for maybe pulling snow away from areas I can't get with the blower.I want to see how this set up works and maybe next year get a rear blade and maybe a Curtis cab. I've read a lot of good reviews about the BX2750 blower and am just waiting to try it out. It's snowing here now in Massachusetts, but only have about 2" out there now,so don't think it's even worth firing up for that.I'll try and get some pictures to post once I get to use it.

Really not very deep in this pic, but this gets the job done for me. No narrowing driveways, no large piles at the top --or anywhere-- obstructing vision, going only forward all the time.:D

Have had no problem with snow up to 2' deep, also attacks large town truck plow ridges with ease. Slows down some with wet snow, but still throws 25' or so. Shouldda bought one of these years ago!

Not enough for my liking. I was stuck in Minneapolis during the big dump. What a mess. Thinking the whole time I would be very popular if I had my Bota.
Well all the folks complaining about too much. Send it here. Our agreement was free delivery.

Hey, Fish, I see you have ladder chains on your BX, which I believe has the same frame as my BX25. Don't you have a clearance problem with the frame on the rear wheel chains, and also with the steering mechanism on the front wheel chains?

(It may be that the additional frame member running between the front and the rear of my tractor is unique to the BX25 since it comes with a backhoe, but I am sure the front tire clearance on my BX25 must be the same as your BX.)

I tried putting chains on, but the clearances were just too tight and I believe I am going to have to add wheel spacers, which will be another $600 or so of expense.

This is my first year moving snow with my newly acquired tractor.
L1801
I've got a 48" bucket and 48" blower.
I push the snow in a giant pile with the fel.
Wait for a day when the wind gets right ripping and fire the snow into the neighbors field.
Gets **** near 40 feet of hang time when the wind is right.

I'm hoping for more snow.
I spent 4 hours moving snow the first time, smiling the whole time.
-35 with the wind chill.
No cab needed. In Manitoba we are built with a built in defense against cold weather.
They're called testicles!!
I hope I have the same gumption in 2 months.

I also live in Manitoba and have alot more fun with a soft-sided cab from Bercomac and a 12 volt heater off Ebay. No more cold face or cold hands. Just traded my rear mounted snowblower for a front mount. Oh, yeah, no more twisted neck!
