1528 smoking issue

I suspect I get more fuel in the oil than with my old BX25 did, the BX started always with a white puff. This MF1532 looks like I am burning tar paper when it starts in the garage. I was only wondering if starting leaner would it not smoke as much.. if it could start that way.

I owned a 2006 1547 that smoked on startup all the time, now I have a 2008 1533 that does the exact same thing, seems to just be the norm for those motors. I just traded the 1533 for a 1648 so I'll let you know if the new models smoke as well.

I plugged my 1532 in tonight for 2hours before I plowed the driveway and it cuts the smoking way down. It does help a lot when you don't want to run it out doors right away while hooking the back blade on it.

Ya big difference if you keep them plugged in, mine is used for snow removal so it is plugged in with a timer so it cycles a couple of hours at a time. My dad has a 1959 Massey Ferguson FE35 with a 4cyl Standard Diesel, it would smoke so bad on startup you had to leave the shed and wait for the smoke to clear before you could find the tractor, when I got my 1547 I joked to my dad that after 50 years of technology Massey still hadn't fixed the smoking problem.

Stand behind- cat, cummings or detroit diesel thats cold on start up, they smoke too, my 1528 does just the same as any diesel, with a lower combustin flashpoint than gas, your going to get smoke on a cold engine.
cold engine means cold. even when it's 120 degree's outside for day's it's still a cold engine.

I've got 2 John Deere with Yanmar diesels in them and below zero they hardly put out a puff on startup, and unfortunately they don't even have block heaters on them to plug them in, I'm not saying they are better, I'm just saying those little Iseki' s seem to smoke a lot when you start them.

Here's a quote from a friend of mine that owns a 1635 and had others before it:
"Our 1635 gives a puff on start up, because the iseki diesels are still indirect injected, where as the Yanmar dieses are direct, big difference... Smoking on start up is normal, and nothng to worry about here, the need to remember these are not gassers."

i have a mf 1250 it always smokes on start up. hot or cold. more on cold. when it's cold i use the block heater for at least 1/2 hour.glow plugs for 80 sec. a little smoke for a engine that always starts.open garage doors first

If I plug my mf1532 in for 1-2 hours it smokes very little, without plugging it in you have have to wear a mask until you get it outside. After it warms up not problem, works great just looks bad.
