My Carryall Saga...

I called my local TSC and asked them if they had something in stock a month ago and they had no clue what I was even talking about. They are not the same store as when they first opened, that's for sure. At least around here.

It seems like they aren't keeping old farmers, mechanics, and professionals on staff anymore. Mostly youngsters and cheaper labor.

I get the stock numbers off of their Internet site and read it to them over the phone. That seems to work better for checking what is in stock.

I remember what it was now. It was a PTO shaft with a quick connect on both ends. Next time I'll know better to shop their online catalog first. I ended up buying it from Northern Tool, along with the pins I needed. I'm not a big fan of TSC's website search either.

I would go with 5/4 pressure treated decking material. Over that span on the carry all it would cut down on added weight and be plenty durable for use.

Figure that a 2x8 is more than twice the amount of lumber as a 5/4 x 6 decking. Plus at the big box home improvement stores the decking will cost less per foot than the 2x8.

I have one of those and I can definitely tell ya if ya leave it in the sun for any length of time, the orange color fades out quickly. Not bad for the price if ya can live with the fade.

The tractor stays indoors when it is not being used. Even so, I could take the fade for $9...

Do you havea harbor freight near you? they have a plastic container of lynch pins cheap. with 20% coupon, its pretty cheap. I keep a box of them handy since I losee them every once awhile.

If you want, you can also get the 3/4 hitch pin from harbor freight to use instead of toplink pin. I have and used both, I seem to prefer th hitch pin due to large handles to grab with.
