Precious cargo there. She's both, trusting and crazy for blackberries. :)

Did ya'll float 'em? ... to watch all the little bugs that come floatin' to the surface?!

Bugs love blackberries, too!

What is that thing you are towing???

A snowmobile trail groomer. Has cutters that shave the snow, pulls the snow in the groomer then deposits it in low spots and packs it with the rear pan.

Did about 12+ miles yesterday with it. We have two trucks with tracks to haul the groomers, but the tractor works better early in the season until the trails get smoothed and filled.

I'll start a thread someday with some grooming equip pics.

Interesting. Did you build it yourself?

No, this one was built by one of our members. We have two that are large like this one (approx. 7x16') and are pulled by the trucks.

My biggest limitation pulling it with the tractor is the weight, most of our bridges were built to handle smaller equipment. Here's a shot of an old rig that I still use now and then to groom.

Sorry for the thread highjack.

Here are a few of mine...
I've recently upgraded to an L4610 and will be selling these two. In the past I would use one tractor when I needed the bucket, and the other when I needed the PTO or 3pt forks, now I can finally have one tractor that does BOTH :D

Got a cousin who lives in the Upper Peninsula and worked in the winter grooming state trails. Used a snow cat with heated cab. I think he said he had over 80 miles of trail to tend. Done mostly at night to avoid the snowmobile users.

Done at night because it is colder. The colder it is the better the grooming.
Driving these big groomers is a real trip, all hydraulic steering and it takes some practice.

I've never seen a tracked Deere with 3-axles like the one in the background.
You may find these slide shows of interest as they have new groomers and one shows them converting a JD to a groomer.
Do the slide show cause some pictures do not display without it.

Funny though, these machines are designed to add snow to the trails not remove it.

Here's a couple of weeks ago, enjoying being out in the -20C/0F, but makin' money just the same...Life is Good

Can you make money moving snow? That may be a stupid question but we never get enough that would need to be moved. It melts the next day.

Me with the son of my niece Vincentas. His eyes are blazing up, when he sees a tractor. No way to get him away from a tractor.
