Anybody using Amsoil diesel oil in kubota?

Been using Amsoil in both of my Kubota's, from first oil change. BX23TLB and B3200 TLB, they make a Premium HD 5w30 Diesel for cold weather starts and protection. Absolutely no issues, the temps this week in upstate N.Y. are going way below zero, this is were Amsoil shines besides working in high temps.

This what i dont understand, why the fasination with Amsoil? Rotella makes a 5w-40. It to is a 5w oil at your below zero temps just like the Amsoil. It wo is Syn. I gues if you have a tractor that recomends 5w-30 it will be a little thick when warm being a 40w but i just dont get it?

All oils are not created equal. Not dissing Rotella at all but there are significant differences between mfg. and formulations. Amsoil makes a great oil.

I'm not sure facination is the word. For me it is a little loyalty, but based on my experiences with it.

Starting with my motorcycle road racing (mid-late 80's), I noted immediately better shifting and about 2.5mph faster top end on the track. After a season of total racing abuse we tore that engine down. It was like new. Cross hatch looked perfect, no deposites on the valves, the cams and rod/crank bearing looked new. Keep in mind most guys with regular oil were changing there oil every race day, I went 3 race days on each change of Amsoil.

I also started using it in my vehicles. I still have my 1987 Nissan "hard body" 4x4 pick up and still going strong with 245K on it... and again, extended oil drains (7000-8,000 mile intervals).

My girlfriend had a Chevy S-10 pick up with a transmission that was really hard to get into first and second gears, so bad we thought we were going to have to have it re-built... after going Amsoil synthetic it was almost un-noticable.

SO... I guess for me every experience I've had with Amsoil has been positive. I'm not saying that other synthetic's aren't good as well. I do firmly believe synthetics are superior to petrolium oils.

That is why I personally stick with (Amsoil) synthetic oils. I suppose if I had started with Mobile One or another syn brand I'd still be using that... but Amsoil has all the synthetic oils I need, not just one.

rotella T6 5/40 has been my choice in everything i use (after break in)....am sure all above products are just fine too.

But really motor oil is like religion, don't know if you made the right choice till it's too late....look at the consensus, but make your own choice

All synthetic oil isn't (What I would call) a True synthetic. Call Mobil & ask them what their using in their oil at a given time ? They won't tell you. Amsoil will give you that info..Amsoil gives info on it's oil ( TBN ,ETC, ) on it's site... I guess they have nothing to hide

I can understand this, you have a reason to beleive it, you just dont go by the sales brochure and what you read. The Nissan truck is nothing hard to beleive. (Knock on wood) I have a Ford ranger aproaching 300K and i dont use Syn oil in it, so take it for what its worth. I think with regular maintence 200+ is easily attainable, even with shoddy maintence it can be done. Neglect probably not though.

It think the old thinking of going with a regular oil for break in and then changing to synthetic is falling by the wayside. I'm pretty sure my new Challenger came with a synthetic in it from the factory.

Even the 5.4 in my 2007 F150 came with Ford's Motorcraft Synthetic Blend from the factory.

I run AmsOil in all of my engines including F150, 2 Subarus, 3 Motorcycles, 3 Husqvarna chain saws, Kubotas, boat , mowers, .......

I have been using it since about 1981. In the cars and trucks I change the oil once a year (we usually don't go over 25,000 miles in a year) and the filters at 4-6 months (and then top off the oil). None of the various rigs have used any appreciable amount of oil between filter/oil changes, and I have not had any oil related engine problems (except the 2007 F150 which Ford put an entire new engine in at 30k miles because of an oil pump failure). I had an '86 Ford Ranger that I sold 1997 at 165,000 miles (as a young family we were out growing it - kids no longer fit in the jump seats), last summer I ran into the guy I sold it to in Home Depot. The Ranger was in the parking lot with just over 300k on the original engine. The guy was going to retire it because the running gear was all giving up the ghost.

I have had friends (including diesel mechanics) that were skeptical of my maintenance but have tried it and ran oil analysiss. and are now are using AmsOil with Extended OCI.

Yeah, Rotella is what I use in my oldest, cheapest equipment. It's pretty well the cheapest oil you can buy so I use it accordingly. I'm no Amsoil addict by any means, but I can't use Rotella and Amsoil in the same sentence with a straight face.

Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. An oil pump fialure is an engine failure- you can't dismiss it. An oil pump is nothing but 2 gears being protected by the oil they are squeezing out. But I slipped back...The logic of many posters is that because they ran brand X and never had any "problems" is a false logic. If it had an real merit, then any of the thousands of posts on this internet made by people who have run the cheapest wally mart oil and have not had any "problems" would have the same validity. Sorry but ultimate vehicle longeveity is almost never determined by the motor oil you run. Go to a junk yard and ask the junkyard owner how many vehicles are there because the vehicle owner ran a cheaper motor oil. The answer wiil be Zero
