Anybody using Amsoil diesel oil in kubota?

Sorry i did not mean i was using SYn oil in it. The Walmart Syn is overpriced. I am using regular dino oil in it for >$11/5qt jug. The ranger has to many oil leaks and burned way to much oil sine i got it for me to justify putting Syn in it. Same reason with the saturn, its a gm and burns to much to justify it.

LOL, my neighbor has a '99 F350 that has the 'self changing' oil kit. It leaks so much oil out that he has to add 3 or 4 quarts each time he fills the fuel tank. I guess I'd have to say "why bother" if I had a truck like that. There again, after I spent all the money to concrete my driveway, he is not allowed to come to my house in that truck. Within a week it would look like I had an asphalt driveway!

I started using synthetic oil since 20 years ago in my snowmobile and was impressed with the performance. Now I use Amsoil in everything, having experienced very positive results. The engines stay cleaner , motorcycles shift smoother. Tractors hydraulics work well in all weather . I even use it on my lathe for lubrication. For My new MF 1532 oil was ordered last night on line for a complete fluid change out. I will use Donaldson hydraulic filter though. If the oil prevent wear that occurs mostly at startups then your system should stay cleaner if not install better filters and better oils. I have years of experience working with industrial equipment very few companies used synthetic Oil until a problem rears it head and then we would call swepco for advice and usually ended up changing out to a synthetic or blended oils or grease.
When you remove a valve cover off a motorcycle and oil droplets are still on the springs after sitting for 3 months this shows you it will be on the bearings on cold starts too Me anyway.. My two cents, keep your systems operating with good fluids, use good oil and filters you should't have any problems.

When i first was in college, not to long ago, about 10 years ago, i worked with an older guy who drove an 80's model conversion van. He never changed his oil, he burned so much (and i mean blue cloud, my ranger has no blue unless im turning 5 grand or so) and leaked so much. He just put a new filter on about every 6 months. My driveway if falling apart asphault, so you cant really tell anyway. The ranger is not that leaky, after a week you will have a quarter dollup under the manual tranny and about 3 small oil dots less than the size of a penny. It burns most at high speed, but again its undecernable out of the tailpipe, no blue at start up and not and no real smoke running 70mph but its going.

Really enjoy the posts here. Always good advice and banter. I just put Mobil One SYN in my 3010 'cause the starting RPM is higher than petro oils allow when it is cold.
One guy mentioned his FRONT AXLE oil change????? I'm new to "tractorin'.." My 'bota is a 4X4....what and when do I change that oil/fluid?
Thanks Guys......BTW, we have ALWAYS used synthetic in JETS cause it gets REALLY cold up there....:D

Do you have a manual? It will be in there. On my L2500 I think it's every 400 hours. Should have a dipstick on the top of the axel. You can check level there. It's an easy change but you have to drain both sides. (Two different drain plugs) (Might even be 3? Can't remember if there's one in the center pumpkin also)

Oh, I certainly meant no insult or to imply that you had a vehicle that spread oil on dusty gravel roads to keep the dust down. Just something about the way you said what you did reminded me of my neighbor. Unfortunately, he's one of those guys you'd have to watch out for if you were looking to buy his truck. He'd probably tell you that he never went more than 2000 miles between oil changes; and leave it at that. Other than the fact that it still runs, it doesn't have many more positive attributes. I thought the only 7.3 PSD I owned was a leaking machine. His 7.3 made mine look like a new Lexus on the underside.

Not trying to argue, but i think this is a common misconseption with syn oil. If this were actually true why would manufactures use Mobil 1 (not a plug for it, its just what they actually use) as a factory fill in many different models. I know for a fact that chevy puts it in the corvette, the what use to be trailblazer SS, its put into some mercedes upper line vehicles, and i think the high dollar cadilac has it in it.

You statement would mean that the rings on all these vehicles will never seat since they have Syn oil in them from the factory and mile 1. You think all these vehicles have blowby and smoke and are down on power? Next time you see a vette thats 5 years or less ask him what oil he runs, im sure it will be syn, and then ask him when he "changed" over from regular oil.
My wife's 04 CTS V6 uses Mobile 1, even has it on the fill cap. Perhaps it is because the filter is about 2 inches in diameter by six inches long if that? So, I use Mobile 1 in it. I also use Mobile 1 in all my small engines because they can sit for long periods between use. Glad the CTS is not a daily driver.

Beyond that, I always used Rotella dino in my Dodge and when I sold it at 225k, it still did not burn much oil if any. The body and interior were pretty rough. 225k is pretty much the longest I kept a vehicle. My F150 with the 302 is about 205k now and does not drop much between the 3500 mile Valvoline changes.

Anyway, since I tend to buy used, I appreciate all you people using Amsoil and keeping those engines clean for me to follow up on with my dino oil. Course', if oil keeps rising and the price of syn stays steady, I just may go with it for everything.

I took no offense. I really dont care what my vehicles look like. They are all well maintained and reliable. I personally would rather save the mony or buy something different with it.

Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. An oil pump fialure is an engine failure- you can't dismiss it. An oil pump is nothing but 2 gears being protected by the oil they are squeezing out. But I slipped back...The logic of many posters is that because they ran brand X and never had any "problems" is a false logic. Zero ;)

This failure was not oil related (in fact Ford didn't even ask what oil was in it) They wouldn't give me a lot of details other than to say "Your getting a brand new engine" and on continued questioning, at one point they said that there was a problem with the oil pressure at low speed (idle). They really wouldn't talk about it and acted like it was a known issue and that the resolution was a new engine. It went from me bringing it in with a strange noise at idle (it just started doing it that morning) to having an replacement engine on order within a couple of hours. They didn't ask for service records or anything. Definitely strange.

The guy that shift forgot to tighten an nut on some shaft and they did not want to answer to many questions and it come out that not only was it your fault but that somebody was half doing their job it caused the problem.

Just my guess.

I use Amsoil in my B2400. All other brands of hydraulic fluid I used caused me to lose power steering after an hour of hard mowing. That's over a period of 10 plus years. Since I've been using Amsoil for the last year and half I've had NO problems with my power steering. Is it a coincidence?
