Well I guess it would depend on what you want to use you tractor for.
I have a BX24 with a 12" bucket and R4 tires filled with beat juice as well as
Front blade (Kubota)
Snowblower (Kubota)
Rear blade (Landpride)
Landcsape rake (Landpride)
Box scraper (Landpride)
54' MMM (Kubota)
Bagger (Kubota)
Ripper finger (not sure of the propper term 3pt pice of steel that can penetrate 18") (Off-brand)
Spike airator (Off-brand)
Drum roller (Off-brand)
2" rceiver hitch (ATV type)

+1 on the Brotek plates. I figured that out the hard way. I have both bucket sizes. Little one for irrigation ditches, big one for most everything else.

I tried the backhow for irrigation pipe and it was too slow etc. I used a pipe pulled on the BX and pulled all 2000 feet in about 4-hours....

Thanks all for your advice, except that now I'm in for a landscape rake as well.

I'm about to buy a BX25, and I want to make sure I don't forget anything in the way of options etc. I already have an L3130HST, so the BX25 will be my wife's tractor (she'll let me borrow it to dig holes). My plan is to get a 60" mid mower, canopy, and rear work lights. I also want to be able to use implements besides just the backhoe.

Any advice on what I will wish I had added or not added? Also, any advice on bucket size, 8" vs 12"?

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

I would look into getting wheel spacers for the rear. I have the same setup, BX25 with 60" MMM, and the two inch spacers work perfectly. The added stability is remarkable, and probably better than what would be achieved with filling the rear tires since they are on the small side and not that much weight would be gained.

I like this idea. Where did you get the spacers? Will my dealer have them - I'm headed there Saturday.

One advantage of a BX is its light weight on turf when mowing lawn. If your sod is soft, that might be something to think about before weighting the tires. If you have no soft spots, it may not matter.

There are so many attachments available, it really would help to know exactly what you are going to do with the BX that you can't already do with the L. It would also help to know a list of all the attachments you already have for the L and what you use them for. Does the L have a FEl and BH? If so, do you really need the BX25, i.e. would a BX2360 meet her needs? For digging these holes, are they post holes or are you excavating for a swimming pool, i.e. would a BX2360 with a PHD meet your needs or do you really need the BH?

I "believe" the Kubota wheel spacers are designed more for allowing space for chains and are only about 1.5", Bro-Tek offers wider ones for stability. There are some on eBay, but I didn't check to see who makes them.

Could you explain how you did this? Sounds interesting.
