Waxman..I read that whole thread a few years back. You took a lot of crap that you should not have. And for now, just blow it off! I appreciate the tip and will try it. Thanks

I don't think anyone is ragging anyone about waxing a tractor, I sure don't mean to.

It pays in the long run to take care of what little I have, thanks for the tip!
Now, where is that Kunuba wax?

Maybe we could get on Maguires show somewhere for being tractor crazy. At least once a year and a few wash jobs isn't too much to ask for a good piece of equipment. How else could you make the neighbors envious??????

I might try the odorless mineral spirits ..... the new crap that's all we can buy now ........... but I don't think I'd have the courage to use real paint thinner

I know that you're kinda kiddin' about Maguires, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if someone came up with a show on tractors, builds, ideas, usage, safety...gad, you could put it on the House and Garden, Build It Yourself, etc. In fact, we used to have a show on CBC up here called Country Canada...on for years with a fairly small following, but interesting enough.

Jazz it up a bit, talk tractor and you'd have my attention. Couldn't be any worse then the repeats on Cool Tools. Hey, if Duke1 and me can talk tractor for hours, and we don't know that much, can you imagine what a professionally run show would be like.

Just thinkin' out loud.  :D

I've thought about waxing my tractor. I'm wondering if a good coat of wax in the fall will help the snow slide off while snow blowing. If it means less snow melting int the garage then I'll give it a shot. Besides it looks so perdy when it's all spiffed up.

Mineral spirits ARE paint thinner. Same thing. It's lacquer thinner or xylene ya don't want to use. WD-40 or generic light spray lubes work too. Just cleaned my pin joints on a 6 year-old BX today. It took a couple of hours. I bet there was 10# of crud caked in all those recesses.

So, um, WaxMan, now that my tractor is clean, where do I hang the little pine tree air freshener??

Oh, just hang it from the GPS sensor. That's where mine is.
