Took it by a fabricator today to have him look it over...I was aware of some items that had been welded improperly where the bucket attaches....and I wanted to get it done right..the news was not good....wanted a good bit of money for what needed to be done..he found some things I had not seen.....not unfair...just alot of money.....I am going to take it to a buddy who I wheel and deal with....hoping we can work a deal that does not have as much $$$ changing hands involved.....bottom line this is not going to be a good deal for me.......I knew I was going to get educated on what to look for, what to walk away from, etc.....just did not need it to be this expensive :( It can be fixed....just will cost more than I care to spend...may have a front end loader for sale sooner than I planned......if so Smoody gets first dibs.....

Kevin any chance you could give me a few measurements......

You might be able to tell which loader it is by the cylinder measurements....that is, if the ID tag on the left hand side is missing or painted over. I can see one in one of the pictures posted.
Yanmar contracted to have about 3 different series of loaders made from what I heard at the time. Yours looks like the last series and it went like this according to their advertising sheet.
YM140/47 =YFL575 loader w/ 1.75"x15" lift cylinders
YM186 =YFL650 loader w/ 1.75"x13" lift cylinders
YM180 =YFL675 loader w/ 1.75"x15" lift cylinders

220/226 =YFL875 loader w/ 2.00"x16.5" lift cylinders
YM276 =YFL1075 loader w/ 2.00"x24.0" lift cylinders
YM336 =YFL1575 loader w/ 2.25"x24.0" lift cylinders

All of that series of loaders looked similar and used a single lever control. Bucket cylinders on the three smaller ones were all 1.5"x14". Larger ones used the 1.75" cylinder. The 226 bucket cylinders were 14" long, the 287 and 336 used 1.75"x20" bucket cylinders.

These were very nice loaders and stout. The cylinder packings can be tightened with a ring spanner to stop leaks. That's actually a good thing. But like any of this style they will seep some. I can scan the adv. doc. if you need.
Enjoy! rScotty

Thanks for the info....need a bit of good news at this point....it is on my trailer at my buddys shop....I will not be back till Wednesday but will look at it then....I am thinking it is for the 336....I took a quick measurement to get an idea of the size of the cylinders and I am pretty sure they were 2" plus ........if you have more than what is in the thread above would love to see it. At this point I am collecting data.....by any chance did the 336 FEL have the 53" bucket??

Thanks!! Any help will be appreciated. I am either going to make this fel right and try to get a premium or I am going to stop where and I am try to get as much as I can of my money back......

Is it best to just go to my local hydraulics store to get the material to rebuild or anyone have a better suggestion??

Well, one bit of good news is that they are really, really good loaders. Look at the pivots, the bushings, the way the frame mounts, and the cylinder construction. Plus just how heavily built that it is. Top quality stuff. Sure it's a hassle to put it together, but welding is cheap and you will get a ton of use out of the loader.

On the cylinder size, I didn't mean to confuse things. Hydraulic systems are measured by inside bore - like an engine. It's done that way to make the hydraulic pressure and force calculations come out right.

So to give a feel for it, I did just go out and measured the OD (outside diameter) of the cylinders on our YM336D. Cripes! It's below zero degrees! Now OD might vary with manufacturer, but normally it'll be very close to being consistent. These 2.25" lift cylinders have about a 2.625" outer diameter and a 1.5" diameter rod. The 1.75" bucket cylinders are about 2.125" OD and have a 1" OD extension rod.

Also not sure how we are measuring the bucket. Normally it is measured in the largest direction from the outside of one end to the outside of the other end. The measurement is based on the total width of the path that the bucket would cut out if you forced it into something like a snowbank. The YFL875 could be fitted with either a 48" bucket or a 60" bucket. The YFL1075 and YFL1575 only came with the 60" bucket. The measurement of the width of the arms on the YM336D's loader is 45" from the center of one arm to the center of the other. The arms themselves are 2.5" wide. So if yours is 53" wide it probably isn't for the 276 or 336....not that you wanted that anyway. Too heavy. from the photos, your bucket looks stock - though I didn't really look for welds.

Not sure what "material to rebuild" that you need from the hydraulic shop? Hoses? The cylinders probably just need the packing tightened, if that.
Hope this helps, rScotty

Well I can't afford to drop a load of$ either on fabrication to get it right, what did the guy have it mounted on? If this loader came on the YM276 it might work for me?? I have a YM2001 and the closet US model to it is the YM276 I believe.

Smoody, I'm probably wrong, but I was thinking the YM220/226 was the closest cousins to your YM2001.

I will measure today...but I agree...after looking a picture of a 336 with a fel...this one is not that big.....I am thinking probably more like a 226 maybe a276....inside dimensions (spacing) on my arms were 37" at front and 36 1/4 at back.....pretty much the same dimensions that Keith gave me yesterday. The bucket pivots but the pins were welded on the outside ends....most of what needs to be done is welding....I am thinking 2 cylinders need to be repacked....maybe one needs to be rechromed...but maybe not.......if I could weld (always wanted too) it would be work but would save me a good bit of money......top arm was welded on to frame as well...alot of backyard welding is what I would call it...I am hoping my guy today will help me out since he and I do a lot of horse trading.....

Best to go to my local hydraulic place for repacking these cylinders????

I measured the inside of the bucket side to side and it measures 53" ??

Thanks

I am going by what Hoye sent me 3 years ago when I ordered an owners manual for my YM2001, the manual actually has YM276 on the cover of it, was told that was the closest match, would like to know for sure though..

sacsr did the guy tell you what he used it on?

Well I'm sure Hoye knows more than I do about it. I was just looking at weight and horsepower, 220/226 seemed closer, but evidently not.

Back in the US Yanmar days, we used to think of the YM276 and YM336 as being remarkable for being so similar in size and capability. The 336 was more popular world wide, but the 276 was very popular locally - especially with specialized contractors and at golf courses.
Because of their popularity, the Yanmar distribulor carried in stock a lot of parts for both. I did hear a few years back that front axle and PTO parts for the 276 were becoming more difficult to find. I haven't heard that about 336 parts.
