Finally shopping for a lawn/snow maintenance man's toy for our 2 acres. Really want (vs need) a sub-cut. Liked the rocker pedal on the bx 30 series, not caring for the 2 pedal system on the 60 series. Now I see the new john deere 1026r with hydro cooler (no fan) and position control so I wonder how long until the next Kubota BX update? Might decide this spring or wait till after the next deployment.

I agree with many things said on this post, upon review, but want to point out that the "rocker pedal" still exists. The difference between the 30 series and the 60 series (had both) is thet the rocker pivots below the deck on the 50 & 60 series. Look at it again. push on one and the other moves in the opposite direction. Kubota just cleaned things up and created more foot room for the operator.

I was over on the JD forum and was watching the video of the new 1000 series and it is a really slick tractor. The auto connect with auto PTO means mower attachment you never leave the seat. The only time you leave the seat for the loader attachment is to hook up the lines. The lock in and raising of the stand are all done by the tractor. I like the loader control next to the seat as well. The only negative from what I saw is where they put the Hydro line hookup for the loader. I think its in a bad spot but time will tell. Very slick tractor. If its rugged and reliable and the price is close then I would have to say Kubota may have thier hands full.

From looking at the video, the only down side I can see is you won't be able to use some of the features with third party equipment. Overall, pretty nice though.

I don't expect to see a new BX in the near future.

... I'm with all of you on "features". I think they are great.. but you can't add ANY expense to a subcompact without putting it in range of a B-series tractor... the BX2660 is on a thin line already.
You sort of surprise me on this one. Not bragging but I can afford a BX, B and/or L. I don't pick them based on price. I picked Kubota originally based on price so price is something that is a big factor/consideration to me. I now pick them (BX,B,F or L) to be the best machine for the job and yes, I've done alot of picking to come to my current stable of two F's, one BX and one RTV1140. I didn't pick any of them because they were cheaper than the next size up machine. Love you but you blew this one!!:) I'm thinking you earned 14 lashes with a wet noodle!!!:D

Well, JT, I'll play along.

What Messick is saying is that the OEMs clearly stair step their machines, carefully plotting a price point in order to market(sell) each machine. Some say Kubota is already way overloaded with models. Could be, but that's another thread.

Messick is just saying that if a really, super, fancy BX was priced above a B series, that he sees it as muddy water in the market scheme. I dunno.
Whenever one series gets to the very top, isn't it always splitting hairs in price with the series above it? Aren't the top level B's pushing into beginning level L's? Isn't the very top, Grand L, close in price to a utility M?

I just think both the dealers and their OEMs would rather have cleaner lines of separation in their various series. With Kubota making so many models, it gets trickier all the time.

Can the market bear a utility BX and a Grand BX? Some might suggest they already are. I dunno.

I'm with Bp on this. Way too many BX models. The BX25 could be eliminated by having a BH option for the remaining. Maybe cut the BX2360 and leave the BX2660. I would like to see an optional cab with heat and air for the BX line. For me a B is too big (I know you can never have too big) and the BX fits right but a cab with these options would be great.

OK, I'll play along too. As BPFick has so well pointed out, going from a BX to a B isn't necessarily a "step up", just a change in size. Most continue to think of terms that a B is a step up from a BX and L up from a B when in reality they are in many cases just different sizes. I imagine a B3030 will probably cost as much or more than an "entry level" L.

A very well equipped BX may very well cost more than a B, but I would opt for the BX over a B any day as a B is simply too big for my needs.

I believe Kubota is going to have to follow JD and CC or risk losing not only a market share in this sector, but in others. We bought a BX then another BX then an L and then a M. If we had started out with a nice JD SCUT, we probably would have a barn full of green machines as opposed to orange.

I believe in comparing apples to apples, the 1000 series Deere does not compare to the BX1860. The 3 Pt hitch and PTO are OPTIONAL on that little Deere. I opted for the BX1860 with FEL, box scrape, 48 in fine cut MMM, and disc harrow for the price of the 2305 with a FEL, Not to mention the 0 percent for 60 months financing that come with it. Look at the big picture, and all the pieces for the future!

I think you're referring to the X7xx series garden tractors which have optional rear PTOs and 3PHs. The Deere 1023 and 1026 are new SCUT models that replace the 2305 and come standard with rear PTOs and 3PHs from everything I've seen. Pricing and model configuration are not yet available on the JD website to check, however.

How about just dropping the 2360 and 2660, and either putting the 2660 engine in the 25 or dropping the 25 and giving the 2660 a BH option.
