Wheel Weights or Fill Rear Tires

/ Wheel Weights or Fill Rear Tires #22
Never have liked fluid in tires. If you use calcium and have a leak, you run a chance of it eating your wheels up. If you use any kind of fluid and have a flat you can lose all your fluid or have to have a very expensive service call. If you do lose it, you are out the money to not only fix the flat but you are out the money for expensive fluid again. I made wheel weights several years ago and they have been on two different tractors. They are plenty heavy for everything I have done.

Cropdustr, be careful with the BH thumb. I have read that you could damage the BH by putting too much pressure on it and damage the arm that it mounts too (dipper-stick?). I know that when my old 2610 ran over the hill it bent the (dipper-stick) where it met the main boom from the bouncing it had. Just a thought. Enjoy your new machine!!

Just how much is too much for wheel weights on our GCs? I've got two pair of cut steel stock that are used for wheel weights on my two MF10s. They vary from 65-80 Lbs each. Should fit the rear GC wheels too. The GC2310 was used when I got it (06, 195 hrs:)) and I haven't looked to see if the wheels are filled or not.

So, back to the question of what's too much weight. Can't the front grill be used for weights too? What's a safe amount to hang there? I ask these questions because I've been given about 700 Lbs of Pb, that's right, evil lead:thumbsup: I doubt I'll ever use that much at the range so I could form it to any size/weight. As a matter of fact, the bulk of it is cast to fit an old 18 hp Simplicity.

MF weights for the back are 70lbs each.

Thats 140 pounds that wasn't there before !!! and what does it hurt???

Would more hurt? How much more. The guy I got the lead from had at least 300 on each wheel! Good, bad or ugly?

Can't you pick up about 1000lbs on the 3pt? Doubt a couple unfree pounds on the rims is gonna hurt anything.
