If I tell my wife it's alawnmower and she beleives me then my CUT must be a lawnmower.:laughing:

And the minute you remove the MMM, it's no longer a lawnmower but a CUT, right?

A lot of "tractors" predated the ROPS by a lot of years :D

When did Rops really come in to play?

On LMF Muhammad said if the tractor has a ROPS it was considered a CUT, not a GT...he makes an excellent point there.

When lawsuits became prevalent. ;)

I thought I read somewhere many years ago that if you had paid employees on a tractor, it had to have a ROPs, but for personal use, or for the owner of a business, it was not necessary. I can't recall for sure, now. I thought I heard something similar on that Ax Men show... one of the owners told one of the employees that the employee had to be wearing the hard hat and safety vest but the owner did not.

over at LMF and the original thread I started there set a one day record

what the heck is LMF? I googled and my favorite one started with 'lazy', but I don't think that's what you're talking about..

I think it may be Lawnmower Forum. Lawn Mowers graduated to the tractor style and now we have this discussion to separate the two. People like 4 wheels and a steering wheel. I am sure we will have the same discussion when they invent Zero Turn tractors! And to answer the original question I would have to say "In your own mind".:D Guess I will have to hit refresh before I post next time!

Maybe, this is why we "cross over vehicles". Manufacturers are making tractors that can be both. Garden tractors that can be SCUT's or vice-a-vers-a. SCUT's that can be CUT's but still be able to go through narrow gates, or are just a little lighter for lawn jobs. I don't think there are true black and white areas here.:confused2:
