I guess I am not quite old enough yet.:(
Nor am I but I'm sure you and I can have an Auction any day and walk away with no debt and a pocket full of cash.
I prefer that to depriving my self of the benefit of enjoying what I have worked for 50+ years and then friends and family viewing me laid out and saying "He left a good bank account, he should have bought that __________while he was alive and enjoyed life a bit more but the Grands can live it up for a few months".
The Grands can still enjoy the fruit of my labor after they sell everything but maybe not quite as much. Free money isn't usually appreciated as much as earned money so I'm actually trying to help them. They love riding the RTV with Papaw now and it will be theirs one day and paid for. (And the tractors and F mowers and maybe some cars and a truck and a house and land and maybe rental property)
Enjoy life now or......... well..........may not be a later.

I was talking with Rich Trethewy from This Old House some time back and we got talking about Norm Abrams of the New Yankee Workshop. Rich said, "Oh, Norm never changes router bits. He justs gets the router that has that bit in it." You and Norm are a lot alike. He doesn't need as much storage space as you, but!

If you'd like John, I can probably put you in touch with the producers so you can have your own PBS tractor show. Brady can sponsor! I'd watch that show! You could travel around showing everyone how to.

No, I certainly am in no danger of going on food stamps and surely enjoy our land and tractors.

Pretty much everything my wife and I buy is geared towards family enjoyment/property maintenance as our kids and grand kids enjoy it as much as we do and of course our two sons help with the work. I have found some of the most satisfying times of my life working together with kids and grand kids. I always try to mix a little fun in with the work too.

We have wild game for hunting or just viewing, ponds for swimming and fishing, trails for recreational vehicles and walking paths. I don't miss a dime spent on any of it.

Your last line has been brought to my attention on more than one occasion with the last time in a vehicle crash about a year and a half before I retired in which my vehicle was totaled. I did not expect to come out of that one, but did. I now encourage everyone to retire just as soon as they can and enjoy life.

If a guy can afford it and has the business sense and write-offs to have both a Kubota TLB and a dedicated small CUT, why not? Seriously.

John wouldn't be the first guy on here to have two tractors. When you're young, changing a backhoe on and off and installing the 3 pt hitch is OK. But, at our age, well let's just say age can have it's privileges.

The B2320 is a small tractor. It isn't that much different than a BX, but the ground clearance is what is needed for light farm type work. At the price point of a BX2660? You gotta love it.

Believe me, I was not being critical...I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. :ashamed: If he can swing, it good for him! :) I just wish I could...;)

Too bad there's not some way to add that one to the book of Proverbs. A gem of truth if I ever heard one.
It's probably in Proverbs some where but maybe not in Ky English :) and if not it has to be in Ecclesiastes or should be.:D

I never took it as critical. Most of us on here can accept comments from those we know are BROTHERS or at least cousins.:) (Kubota Cousins):D

Proverbs pretty much covers it.

"He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment" (12:11).

"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty" (14:23).

"An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end" (20:21).

I have a neighbor like that. It's not routers though, it's 12hp shapers. He has at least 6 of them and only one ever gets the heads swapped.
