If I remove the belt and engage the pto and the motor still runs, I would be led to believe the electric clutch is the culprit since it's not under load. If it cuts off, I would think a bad switch. Correct?
If it continues to run,I would think that something after the cluch, is putting a heavy load on the engine, causing it to stall.
the only thing that may cause the clucth to bind ,would be a bad idler bearing on the pulley that is part of the pto assembly.

If your clutch is fully engaging when you flip the switch, I dont beleive there is a problem with your clutch or switch.

There is a SLIGHT chance that the clutch has something loose that lets is bind when there is a side load placed on it, but generally, I agree with you.

I just thought of something (someone else may want to chime in on this) I beleive there is some type of breaking system on the PTO clutch,is it possible this could be the problem?( break not reliesing?)

When I set the gap to specs, I can hear the cover on the clutch rubbing as I turn the pulley. The sound is like metal to metal.

I have ordered a new clutch. I may be wasting money, but I can't figure out where else to look. All the pulleys on the deck spin great. I took the belt off the drive pulley and switched the PTO on and it didn't die. So I'm stumped as well. I hope the clutch comes in by Sat. I'll almost have a new zero turn by the time I'm done.

Good, 3 weeks on a clutch is enough! Glad you're going.

Hmmm,
Something smells odd.

Well, keep an eye on your clutch for further problems..
