Brian seems to be pretty happy with his but it has a lot less miles.

Would 75,000 on a 2008 give you any concerns?

I would have the Oasis report pulled to see what has been done to it under warranty or at the dealer. Like others pointed out to me. It seems the big things are having the current programming in them, and the coolant bypass venturi deal, so the radiator doesn't blow up. My truck has not had the bypass done to it yet but I was able to get 36 month/36000 miles of full warranty with mine so if/when it might need it, it will be covered. My opinion on a 75,000 mile truck, is that if there was going to be a problem it likely has already had it.

I agree with Brian. If there was going to be a issue it would have probably happened. Now you just have to account for that with the price and see how many miles per year you plan on using it before you will need to start dropping major dollars into it like Brian did on his last truck. They all wear out so sooner or later its going to get to the point where it will either not be reliable or just cost too much to keep it going.

As for having it all. I still hope to see a high low rear end in a diesel pickup. Put something like a 8 speed auto with a 2.93 gear and a 4.30 gear. You would then have the best of both worlds.

If it's any consolation, International is still using the 6.4 in their trucks. I looked at a new International TerraStar today that is a new model with the 6.4 rated at 300 hp and 660#/ft torque. It's designed to compete with the 450/550 class of trucks.

I would have the front end checked out at 75K, it seems to be in the middle of the range where front end components start giving issues on 3/4 tons of any manufacturer.

Just went to the scale. My GCVW was 25,300 lbs.

The breakdown is:
5260 on the front axle, the truck is rated for 6000
8160 on the rear axle, the truck is rated for 9500
12880 on the trailer axles, the 2 axles are rated at 8000 each

I was hoping it would be under 26,000. I could probably take out 300 lbs, but I would always be too close and going over would be easy to do. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and up my license. The truck already has a 30K sticker on it so I will have to make sure to pay the fees for that too.

Around here they let you go 10% over before they fine you. Now that is what I heard, never been stopped. I guess if you T-D of the officer he is going to get you one way or another.

I think you are smart for just doing it right. First time you throw a big tractor part in the bed you will be over weight again.
