Hi guys.

I bought a land pride box scraper (the 54 inch wide one). Where the clevis pin goes through the lower arms of the tractor, there appears to be two places you can mount it. On the outside it is a narrow opening, and on the inside it is twice as wide. The manual states to use the bushing (already put together) for cat 1 and cat 1 limited. I mounted mine to the outside, since it seemed to give it more stability (wider mount points). I am not sure if it matters, so I thought I would ask. Here is a pic.

My bb doesn't have that set up, but if it did, that is how I would run it.

Maybe the other space is for the quick hitch.

Thanks for the info and thoughts. I ran it for a few hours like that, it seemed to be ok. But I am a complete newbie on all of it, even at 70 hours with my little tractor.

I would bet magicheater is spot on with his post. I have begun to buy only LP and Woods implements, but have some bought previously without the clevis type hitches and pulled them with the pins flipped both ways and either works though I prefer the wider attachment points.

I am not a "newbie, but that doesn't mean I am doing it right.

OK, a box blade is used with the tines up and down, depending what you want to do. I am contemplating next winter and snow removal, box blade or scraper.
My neighbor said he has shoes on his blade to keep it from digging into the gravel. Why couldn't you do something similar to a box blade ? Using one of the tine mounts couldn't you fabricate a tine with an adjustable wheel, one on each side to keep the blades from digging in. Just an idea.
Only thing is the box is square to the tractor where a blade could be angled.

Gauge wheels need to be behind the implement blade on the already flattened ground. Not before the blade does its work. :2cents:

I would imagine if using a BB to clear snow, he would be in reverse. If going backwards, then using a ripper shank mount for a gage wheel would be fine.

My thoughts exactly JD. The wheels would be as close to the center of weight as possible. Regardless of direction of travel they are still going to work, just better backing up.
Would this expand the versatility of the implement.

I would not expect them to work very well, if at all when traveling forward.

The box area of the blade is designed to load up with material. That will almost certainly jam the wheels and render them skids.

The 2nd part of the problem, is when going forward the wheels will be traveling over the surface you are trying to level and/or clear of material.
