Water temp gauge?

Two radiators!! Why didnt I think of that?!?!

Anyone (who has a temp gauge) want to weigh in with the temp their engine runs at?

i will chime in but you will have to convert it from celcius:D pottering around on a 25c day it sits about 85c. working it hard at 25c day or warmer it can rise to about 110c. no matter how warm the day has been or hard i work it i have never seen it go over 110c. i now also think it runs cooler since i replaced the crap coolant that was in it for good quality mix myself stuff rather than the pre mixed junk.:thumbsup:

25c = 77f
85c = 185f
110c = 230f

Mine runs 160 f max when its been working awhile but it stays way below that normally it takes quite awhile to get up to temp.

Its got a thermostat I dont remember what temp it is though but it keeps a steady 160 so that must be it.

From the Hoye website: "Your tractor should run at 150 to 180 degrees. The light normally comes on at 220 degrees F"

I'm thinking my machine should not be in the 170s in late April on a fifty degree day, not working her too hard. What happens when it's in the 90's??

Just got my temperature gauge installed on my YM1700 and did a short test. Air temperature was cool outside (~60 degrees) and I was running a 5' finish mower. It got up to 190 F. I think that's not bad given that this model does not have a water pump, just water convection.

YM3810D.

I tilled a 5/8 acre garden last nite and worked my tractor about as hard as it can be worked for a solid hour and my temp got up into the 180-190 range after about 40 minutes so I guess thats normal I am not going to worry, this is the hardest its worked since I did the head gasket and valve job etc. fwtw
