This is comparable to the end of ****** or Stalin for the western democracies. I noticed that the Arabs in Dearborn were celebrating, waving American flags!!

Sadly, I don't think this mans death will have play any role in what we are now doing in the sandbox.

I think our president showed great restraint when he got the lead in August and worked the lead to know for sure that it was accurate and acted upon that.

The fact is IMO the president risked his whole political career on this one mission.

I'm sure most of us are old enough to remember Jimmy Carter's failure in Iran.

I'm about as conservative as they come, but I'd like to say thanks to President Obama for a great job and a gutsy move. I don't feel the need to make comparisons because the whole weight of the nation was in the room as our president and his team watched our Seals make the raid. Technology is amazing!

I'd also like to commend whoever it is that decided to have a funeral and burial at sea as quickly as possible. Whoever was responsible for that has incredible understanding that nothing good could have come from keeping his body or bringing him back to the USA. One picture (real or Photoshopped) of somebody doing something to the body (like mooning a casket) and the military, the President, and the USA would have a "black eye." They took him out and got rid of him at sea. He was a evil man and now he is collecting whale poo on the bottom of the ocean. How fitting!:thumbsup:

I don't know if likes of ******, *****, Sadam ,Timothy McVeigh or Dahmer and many more nasty people were born evil as soon as they came out of their mother's wombs. Whatever caused them to take the path they did was their own personal choice and we all are responsible for our choices. ***** deserved what he got, fair and square and in ways much more humane than all the hurts and pains he inflicted on many. As a human being I frankly can't rejoice his death, but at the same time, I'm not a bit saddened that he is gone. The world is a better place without him. I hope video will come later on to show that we did not desecrate the body and gave him a proper burial in his tradition* to show who we are.... I can not forget corpse of Americans being burned and hung from a bridge in Baghdad or marines pulled on the street of Somalia

* burial in ocean is not at all a typical Muslim tradition.. but an exception here was necessary.

I'll let everyone else speak for themselves, but I only knew how to do wrong from birth - I had to be taught what was right and still cannot do all right.

That makes two of us

My Parents taught me black and white and left me figure out the shades of grey. As you said, I myself have not done all things right as I am human with my weaknesses as well. I know though , my internal compass does not allow me to do the black. I know, I can kill for self defense and protecting my family in my home, but truly wish not to ever experience it.

True enough, blind fanaticism is bad in anything and more so in religion. The kids that are brain washed in madrasas don't know any better. ***** was raised in the lap of luxury and material things and he still strayed. I suppose Hilter thought he was an outstanding Christian also doing the work of god...not. I don't reckon he ever attended a Christian equivalent of madrasa. Religion and state is such a volatile mix.

From what I've read they've been gathering info and training for years. They even built a mock compound to train in. It also appears they waited long enough for him to feel very comfortable and safe where he was. All the patience was worth it seeing none of the SEAL team was hurt. Amazing planning.
