THe tractor does not have midmout pto, i dont want the hassle of taking it on and off because of loader work, and they are more expensive.

We have a bobcat dealership, but i dont know of a kioti dealership. ( bobcat and kioti looked an awful lot alike except for the paint)

I can see the point driving for parts vs. shipping costs.
When i talked to farmking in canada they couldnt even tell me one dealership in ND, They changed from distributor to dealer only item. THey told me to try a dealership:ashamed:

Ken Sweet is the first choice set up so you can mow with it using a quick attach? You wrote about a TM as another option is that a Rhino? If it is it looked similiar to a King Kutter

I have a NH TC40DA and i am in the market for a 3pt rear discharge finishing mower.

Originally i was going to go with a 72" to cover my tracks. Then i got to thinking why not a 84"

Brand name? . . . is it better to buy a used higher quality mower that looks as if it is good shape, or buy a brand new one at lower quality. . .

You'll like it a lot.

Stick with the 72"

You'll probably be better off with a high-quality used mower, if you can find a really good one. The best, IMHO, is the Land Pride. I would strongly encourage you to look at one. I had one, but sold it. (didn't use it for a couple years, so thought it wasn't needed) Bad mistake. Now I can't replace it for the same money. Last year, I ran across a decent used Howse for $600 and bought it. Can't complain for that price.

I don't know if any of you are aware or not, but King Kutter's 84 in. Finish Mower's are made with STAINLESS STEEL, 7 guage (3/16") decks. Might be worth checking out. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I have used a LandPride FDR2584 for eight years on my TC40D-SS. I have asked this mower to work in situations far beyond its intended use, yet it keeps on going. The rear discharge spreads the clippings evenly with minimal clumping. You need to keep the blades sharp - unlike a "brush hog" or shredder.

I think there is a big advantage to a 84 inch mower over a 72" since you can mow closer to objects without driving as close to them.

I looked at the King Kutter website for finish mowers and the FM models and SFM models up to 84" wide don't say anything about SS decks. They are the yellow-painted 3/16" steel decks that they have always been. You wouldn't paint stainless steel, would you?:confused2: Can you give us a link to the mower you are describing?:)

EDIT: King Kutter's site seems to be a bit confusing. If you choose Finish Mower, it shows only the older painted models, but if you choose Rear Finish Mower, it shows the SS model in a rear discharge mower but this mower is available only in 84" Rear Discharge. The rest of the mowers are the standard painted steel.

Remember, not all stainless steels are resistant to corrosion (assuming the deck is stainless). Depends on the nickel content (as well as other alloying agents).
A good quality stainless is non-magnetic, so take a magnet along with you if you go to see one.

Every farm store i was at this year that handles kk the largest mower they had was a 72". I dont think they would order an 84" ss for me to look at and if it doesnt pass the magnet test send it back? I did see the SS model in their brochure and it wasnt painted. But i believe then they were in the same price range as farmking, first choice etc.

The stainless steel grade is: Type 304. It's non-magnetic. The only place it will rust, is where a piece of metal has been rubbed against it, such as where it was chained down, or where another piece of metal has somehow rubbed against it.

Here is another picture for those interested.

IF it's 304, it shouldn't rust regardless.

Stainless isn't a cheap material to buy and it's a pain to process (compared to a carbon steel). That adds considerable cost. So, what is the MSRP on this mower and where was it manufactured?

It is 304. It DOES show surface rust where other metals have rubbed against it. The company that we buy it from explained that to us, when we first started buying it. The mower is manufactured in Alabama.
