Disc Hiller Project Got Out of Control

It started out with me buying some hiller disc from Ag-Supply to mount to an old frame I had at the farm. It worked OK and should of left it at that. But one afternoon my wife and I went for a ride with the top down on her Jeep and as we passed a large local farm I saw a guy making the best looking formed beds I had ever seen. I got a good look at what he was using and it went from there. I used scrap I could find and only had to buy the hardware, paint, and, pins. I don't know if it will work as I did not get the top link braces finished but will be testing it soon. I can still use it as a hiller and hope for many more things as well if the bed shaper don't work.

Very nice job! I've been considering building something similar...specifically a mulch layer.
Would you have pics of your forming pan or is it just a "flat pan"?

'nuther Q...where did you get all your U bolts? that the one thing I need to find...been using a local heavy truck shop to bend mine, but they are plain steel (Not Zinc Coated) and their sizes are limited to the dies they have on hand.

My wife said that if she had not seen me build it she would of been mad at me because she would of thought that I had bought it. LOL

Thanks for posting this. I really like the bed shapers aft of the discs. Nice construction ideas. I predict this one is going to be copied ruthlessly.

The frame is 60" wide, I can't remember the pan size as I just used a scrap drop that was in the bin. The disc are 14" dia. with 22" shanks.

I've been collecting parts for something in my head that's nearly identical but haven't started assembling it yet.

Anxious to see pics of the formed beds, believe it or not, it's not planting time quite yet here in Vermont so I'm not too late to the party.
