Just to spice up the debate, is there added service cost on a HST over a gear drive? Just curious my 3240 is gear and I have never owned a Hst, and if so and factoring it in would some of these 9's be 8.2's.........hmmm

Let me answer this way: maintenance is not a cost, it is part of ownership.
My house costs way more than a tent to maintain, but I'm not going to trade it in for a tent just to avoid paying higher maintenace cost.
Half of the time (when box blading) I don't give my lack of HST a second thought, the rest time I wish I had it. I guess I was just trying to justify my HST deprived life.:laughing:
yes there is added service cost with an hst.just to change the hydro fluid in my hst its gonna cost me $250 for hydro fluid.full 50hr service will cost me $385 an thats with me doing the work.a gear tractor hydro oil is never changed.you add hydro fluid if you have any leaks.
